Now that you ask, I'm doing exactly what you're saying, I'm afraid to sell away Brutalizer.

You can supplement as you see fit, but Riven is one of the only champions that actually benefits from being a glass cannon. By all means, buy Randuin's if it suits you, but overall, I prefer Youmuu's. I might have to do a little more testing with it though.

I agree with Nooby's and your decision to make Frozen Mallet core, but I do have a question about the Youmuu's. I've never been very fond of the item personally, but I do understand the need for CDR. Is it because you don't want to waste the money by selling the brutalizer from early game CDR? Can it be replaced with something like a Randiun's Omen for extra tankiness and synergy with the Atma's while still holding CDR value? Great guide, besides that though, thanks a bunch!

I'm all about establishing early dominance and buying Wriggle's Lantern doesn't help me accomplish that. I'll update the description of Wriggle's Lantern to reflect its uses, but overall I don't think it deserves a spot in her main items list. I always feel like it makes Riven have a much slower start than she needs to. Usually by the time I reach Frozen Mallet, I have the right mixture of base health to defeat most enemies. As for Frozen Mallet, I agree and I'll move it into the core.

Ah! I knew I had forgotten about Mercury's Treads! I remember now, thinking about it while I was making the guide, and I completely forgot to implement it. I'll be sure to add that.

Thank you very much for the recommendations!

I think that Wriggle's Lantern provides all the bonuses you need early game in order to have that foundation to support you further into mid-late game. Also, the reason why I think Frozen Mallet should be core is becasue that slow will GREATLY help you in pulling off your combo and sticking to your target. Plus, it synergises greatly with Atma's Impaler giving you an extra 28 attack damage, effectively boosting Frozen Mallet's damage to a total of 48.

-Don't forget to list Mercury's Treads. Riven is extremely vulnerable to CC and these help of you are willing to sacrifice the cooldown reduction.

-My core items against a balanced team are: Mercury's Treads, Wriggle's Lantern and The Brutalizer. These items give you the best all round defence and damage to haul you into mid-late game, and of course I sell Wriggle's Lantern for a the bloodhirster.

That's all I have for now. Looking forward to improvements! ^_^

(Oh, if you can, can you take a read of my guide? I'm in need for some critque :P)

I tried the Wriggle's Lantern path for a really long time, and it felt like it took her a long time to get into the swing of things. I can move Frozen Mallet up to core, but I sometimes think that Warmog's Armor is better, so I'll think about that.

Thank you for reviewing this! I hammered this out last night over the course of about 8 hours, about 2 of that spent purely on recording my own videos which I'll update here soon. And I agree, the aesthetics could use some work, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do. There are some minor errors that I've noticed, and tried to fix, but to no avail.

Thanks again! :)

Nice guide! Being a Riven fan, I like this guide, although i prefer to buy a Wriggle's Lantern before getting my Bloodthirster because it takes too long to build. Also, I think Frozen Mallet should be a core item because you need the slow and the extra health. The 20 damage helps too because with her crazy high AD ratios, 20 damage is put to good use.

There are a few ways in which you can improve your guide, but I'm pressed for time on this comment.

Great info on lane Riven and jungle Riven. Great guide, could work on aesthetics, and I think for some Riven players out there, you need to HAMMER out telling them to use Runic Blade. It pains me to see Rivens not using their passives.

Great job so far and +1 ^_^
