Probably the easiest champion I have faced as Kennen. Just use your range wisely. Try to stay in the middle of your lane and play aggressive, this is where Riven will struggle to farm the most. If Riven calls for assistance, use your E to make a quick and easy escape.
Darius
This really depends on how Darius is played. Always as Kennen try to keep the minions in the middle of the lane. However, if he is passive, then farm and poke, he won't be able to push and he'll have to ask for a gank, and you can use your E to escape. But, when Darius plays aggressive, he can be a bit of a threat. He can grab you and produce a scary amount of damage quicker than you can snap your fingers. Just make sure you have enough energy to use your E, and stand behind minions. If you play Kennen correctly, then Darius should not be a problem. If you are struggling, play more passively and wait for a gank.
Poppy
Poppy is easy for Kennen. Keep to the middle of the lane, farm, and poke. Your range overpowers her. If she calls for a gank, use your E to get away.
Renekton
Renekton is harder than what you would imagine. His dash and stun combo really gets Kennen. Normally, as Kennen, I would try to keep the minions in the middle of the lane, but against Renekton, you need to play passive and get a gank or two. But below level 3/4 is when Renekton is his weakest, so use your range and aim to get a kill before he is level 3/4. Then the matchup will become a lot easier.
Gnar
Typically easy against Gnar, just make sure you react well and pay attention to his fury, and keep your distance when he transforms into Mega Gnar. Other than that, do the usual, control minion push and use your range accordingly.
Shen
Very, very tough to beat as Kennen. Poke once every now and then but if you're caught it can be fatal. Save your E so you have an escape. If you can get a successful gank in, then things might become a little more easy for you, but Shen is still likely to dominate the lane.
Garen
A smart Garen will play passive and wait until level 4/5 and then catch you on the counter, even if you have your E. Make sure you stun him whenever possible and control the minion push. If you are able to control the minions, ask for a gank, then the lane will become so much easier for you.
Cho'Gath
Cho wins this without a doubt. All you can do is farm and get your jungler to camp top if possible. Cho can rip you apart easily so play more passive than you normally would, and be sure to get magic resist and Zhonya's ASAP if you end up getting caught by cho, just so that you have a chance to escape.
Malphite
Your range easily beats Malphite, this shouldn't be a worry. Try and get a couple kills early game. Just be wary when he reaches level 6 because of his ult, so if he tries to slow you, just use your E to get away.
Fiora
Fiora is annoying to play against. She can parry your attacks, dash to catch you when you use your E to escape, and essentially her ultimate can block yours. A good way to try to beat Fiora is to bait her under your turret, so you can try to stun her. At the same time, call for a gank, and hopefully Fiora won't be too bad for the rest of the match. But play with caution.
Vladimir
Vladimir is tough to beat. He can just steal your life and block your abilities, including your ult, with his W. However, early game is one of the only chances to go ahead because of his long cooldowns for his abilities, mainly his W and E. Bait him so he uses his abilities, and keep occasionally using your Q then W against him. At the same time, call for a gank and you should be able to take down Vladimir. To be on the safe side, do this at least twice so that you get the clear advantage.
Nasus
An interesting champion to play against. Because of your range, you can beat him early game. However, once Nasus turns level 6, he becomes quite a pain. He can slow you, ult and constantly Q you. Just make sure you control the minion push and stun Nasus whenever you can. Ask for a gank too, and if successful, Nasus shouldn't be a worry.
Aatrox
Ahhh Aatrox. It'll either go great or bad against him. Your range beats him early game and if you use your stuns to good effect, you will easily kill him early, and you should be fine. Of course he has his passive before you can kill him, which is the bad part of this match up. Along with his Q and E, Aatrox will be a nuisance to deal with as Kennen. His Q because he can catch you when you use your E. His E because it can slow you when you use your E to escape. And his passive because when you use your abilities to kill him, he can just come back and get you if you don't fall back. Your stun will be your saviour for this match up. Stun Aatrox as much as possible and he will be a lot easier to take on. Be alert whenever playing him though, and if you are struggling, ask for assistance.
Kennen
They always say you are your own threat. Prepare for a skill test. May the better Kennen win.
Jax
Jax shouldn't be too bad, since you have your range and stuns to effectively put him out of the game. Just be careful when he reaches level 6, because he suddenly becomes a whole lot stronger. Call for a gank if needed, try and kill him at least twice before he is level 6 and all should be good.
Wukong
Wukong can be challenging because his abilities can put Kennen out of the game. Remember though you can poke him easier because of your range, and you can use your W when he uses his W. If possible, use your W to land a stun on Wukong to help aid you. But a gank is strongly advised for this match up.
Irelia
Your biggest threat. Irelia's kit counters Kennen's kit. Just focus on farming and make sure your jungler is always nearby for gank. Sadly she is always a threat to you throughout the game so make sure you have high farm and good armor to withstand her. Your E, Zhonya's and flash will be extremely helpful.
Illaoi
Should be easy against Illaoi, you have good poke against her and your E can help you from not being grabbed. Use your mobility and E to dodge her abilities and ult, and all should be fine.
