Hi! This is Shacologist a Shaco main and I play in the PH server and this is my guide on how to play shaco, here I'll discuss on how to play shaco effectively and the pros and cons of shaco, and since we're talking about shaco I'll explain as well on how to do some MIND TRICKS to make the enemy team rage. Shaco is a champion that is very tricky and it takes a lot of practice to play him effectively.

With runes, This is the standard page that im currently using atm, Dark Harvest is Good as well depending on the situation

I'd go DH if im going the bruiser type shaco or the tankier version but casual games or most of the time I run electrocute.

Now here's the thing why you're here. First of all, WHY MAKE SHACO TANKY?

#1 Shaco's kit is a complete package (ENGAGE/DISENGAGE > CC > POKE > DIVERSION/DODGE), meaning the longer you're inside the fight the more effective you are.

Starting with Titanic Hydra it gives you an auto attack reset and the tankier you get the more damage you gain. Next is Duskblade of Draktharr after the rework of this item plus the buff of lethality this item gives shaco the potential to burst in burst out anyone with Deceive. And lastly is just a reminder, with all my experience with playing shaco damage is not always the answer to everything, always remember when you mess up shaco's engaging tool you are very vulnerable to CC thus making you useless at all. Playing shaco situational is very effective just counter everything or the enemy team's ace player and you'll win the match up.

PS: BUY SOME EFFIN' CONTROL WARD EVERYTIME YOU BACK!!

PROS:
1.) Shaco can OWN the map if played well and correctly
2.) You can be anything for the team (Engage, Bait, Diversion)
3.) YOU'RE ANNOYING AS HELL!
4.) Has a lot of synergies

CONS:
1.) If heavy CC'd you're dead meat clown.
2.) Shaco can mess up pretty bad if badly executed.
3.) YOU'RE STILL ANNOYING AS HELL! (since shaco is a very hard champ to play)
4.) RIP E DMG

In summary, you would like to practice when to engage and when not to. Again shaco is very vulnerable to CC and so hard to play at first so it will take time to feel the power and potential of shaco, to give some heads up some do climb up to challenger with using shaco, specially if your play style is like an assassin but more of an annoyance.

Always remember this 3 rules of jungling and mix it up with shaco's abilities and you can carry the game even when falling behind:

#1 OBJECTIVES IS A PRIORITY (DRAGON, BARON, PUSHING, VISION)
#2 DON'T OVER CAMP SINCE YOU WILL BE MORE PREDICTABLE THE 2ND TIME AROUND YOU DO THE SAME TRICK.
#3 IF YOU WANT TO BE HELPFUL TO YOUR TEAM DO SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP THEM INSTEAD OF PUSHING ON WHAT YOU WANT (Fail ganks, Stolen camps, counter jungled/ganked)

and lastly a piece of advice, just enjoy the game, be untiltable and practice.

As we know 9.20 is the time for Shaco, he is currently in a bad state now and only few plays him specially OTPs. Let's just hope Shaco will have some good tweaks in 9.20 and bring him back at the rift.
