This is my 1st build ever so critisim is welcom, tips too...
Shen is a Mele range tank with olny one range spell and a global ult to any frendly champion (alive) on the map. He is one of the most diverse tanks in the game being olny two champs have AoE taunts and one is an ult shen is one of the best tanks in the game becasue he has an AoE taunt that isnt an ult. He is more of a "resist" tank being that he can tank good without hp unlike champions like cho'gath and mundo(mundo is more of an off tank to me).

With shen i take HP reds, Dodge yellows, Cdr blues, and Hp quints.
Many people say why CDR? For him to be a good tank he NEEDS his spells up whenever possible nuff said.
Dodge yellows ARE some of the most expensive runes and are hard to get, if you cant afford them you can go ahead and use armor yellows, or magi rez yellows

My core item build for most games are the ones posted above...
The best item on shen is R.O. AoE slow and slow from them attacking you it helps alot for team support. Sunfire is awsome AoE dmg, HP, and Armor. Warogs is awsome Hp with CS, and just a good all around item, and with a atmas you can push down towers like a Us army tank.
But for different games with heave AD or high mage i tend to replace the sunfire cape with thornmail, or for high mage you could go banshees... banshees has mana and thats the olny negitive stat to you WHO CARES you get hp and magi rez with a bubble every 30 seconds. Very good item in wired suituations.

Ok so many shen players like to max taunt. Why because its good CC and you can pull people into towers but... if a team fight pops up in the middle of the jungle you wont be farmed enough to actualy tank good becasuse your last hits will be in a hole. By taking maxing Vorpal blade and using it to last hit creeps you can get about 100 CS in a 25 min game and putting out some good dps you can get some kills and get some people low hp so that the carry can mop people up.
With being creep fed you can easily tank.

I bring ghost so i can catch some one and taunt and change a team fight completly
Teleport so that i dont have to waste my ult to get back to a lane or save an empty lane.
