introduction

Lehends is my favorite player, and as I was looking into his match history, I have found couple of things that I haven't noticed before. He had LeBlanc and Elise in his most played champions couple seasons back. He was known for being a support main although he now is known for playing Singed, and I dug up some articles that he made Elise support meta, and played LeBlanc support when no one was. I looked into the champ and realized that LeBlanc had some interesting aspects to her gameplay that made it oppressive:

1. Mobility due to w being on low cooldown and able to be used twice in a row
2. Burst due to high base damage and decent scaling
3. Lane priority due to above, meaning she can attack first
4. One-sided trades with dashing in and returning to the checkpoint
5. Ridiculous laning phase due to everything mentioned above

As season 8 meta has changed to emphasize the laning phase as more burst damage can be acquired earlier on, LeBlanc can abuse the meta change and dominate the laning phase as she has been reverted from the notorious "LeClunk" state.

This guide is made to educate people who take Leblanc into the bottom lane as a support, and as that is not a very common sight to see, I doubt not a whole ton of people have spent the time into thinking about Leblanc support more than I did if you compare to the general population of League of Legends players.

The theory is that LeBlanc has everything loaded on her w, and that means you have to max it first, but if you miss your w on the champ, you lose a lot of damage during the early game, making your lane push priority pretty low in the mid lane. It is also the only source of waveclear you have on the champion, while also being the only escape tool you have, making you vulnerable in the mid lane if you were to push the lane with it. To prevent the misfortune of getting ganked while the w is on cooldown, you can sacrifice your now half useless bot laner and snowball yourself (or potentially a good bot laner) by not needing to use w on the cs, but on the champions.

The reason Kassadin has become a popular pick back in season 3 and 7 was partly due to the fact that Dopa has instructed many people only to use Q on the enemy champion in lane. By playing the champion another way, Leblanc support can be a bigger lane bully by using the w onto the enemy champ and creating more lane pressure. LeBlanc in the bot lane is unexpected to many people, and by abusing their lack of knowledge, you can now win lane for free as:
1. they don't keep enough distance as most bot lane players don't go other lanes, or go jungle as secondary meaning that they don't know LB's effective range
2. they are not used to LeBlanc damage especially with Spellthief procs

The most important about playing Leblanc is to tilt the enemy laner, to the point where they will insta-ban Leblanc next game. Achieving the tilt is simple, as you need to do the most dirty trades and be oppressive enough so that the cs lead is an obvious aspect in your gameplay.

After playing enough games with LeBlanc support, it is possible to win almost all lanes as the bot lane is now primarily support in the early game, especially with the marksmen item nerfs.

Most importantly, you can 100 to 0 the enemy fast enough that they can't react to it, and this is especially effective against the popular bot lane picks. Having frail bodies, they stick themselves in a formation where they won't be targeted easily, but if you manage to get ahead, killing them with a simple poke combo would be a breeze, as they are increasingly useless when behind.

If you kill them enough times, it is possible that it will invoke a sudden urge to delete the game within the enemy team.

Spells

Take flash on f slot and ignite on d slot

If you have flash on d, unfortunately, you are missing out on the ability to play Vladimir, (who is always absolutely livid) with smart cast on.

In order to quickly swap from Leblanc to Vlad when possible, adopt the f flash or miss out on the absolute unit.

All other spells are below average on Leblanc support, as your job is to use your adc as bait and gimp squishy champs that are ready to pounce and bounce on your ad player.

Taking exhaust improves gameplay minimally, while have the ignite ready generates pressure by just it's existence.

Exhaust does not increases snowballing potential or help protect your adc (as you shouldn't be protecting the adc). Taking ignite and absorbing the aggro will be more efficient as they are more likely to focus LB, not the adc, and LB has good mobility as well as being a member of the team that can die after oneshotting somebody.

Runes

Runes

Take the season 8 equivalent of Thunderlord's Decree , (the quintessential keystone from season 6-7) Electrocute.
It has harsher activation conditions but does more damage than Thunderlord's Decree.
The keystone does about a skill's worth of damage to the frail bodies of the opposing marksman.
Q->W auto can do around 50% of their hp at lvl 2.
The change made was that it would take three separate attacks to proc, instead of three hits, but that is not necessarily bad for Leblanc as she can q w auto to proc it, or w e q auto, or not proc it at all on purpose, but just to chunk them so you can surprise the enemy with the Electrocute combo after the cooldowns come back up.

Sudden impact is more magic pen when you w or flash, more finish potential, more useful as Cheap shot is not that easy to proc when you are not with Ashe.
It also helps as when w hits, it pops the sigil giving you extra sigil damage on mark + w

Zombie Ward is good when you're support and need more map presence. It also gets you more vision score and increases chance of getting an S.

Last row is preference, but I would take ult hunter as r cd is when you can burst.

Sorcery secondary with Transcendence and Scorch, which are more lane focused than other setups.
Transcendence gives you two things: 1.Early cooldown reduction 2.The ability to buy over the cdr cap.
Scorch gives you the tick of damage that is needed to finish early kills.
I no longer take celerity as the movement speed it gives was nerfed from 3% to 1.5%.

Pros / Cons

Pros
Able to win lane with minimal adc intervention
Great follow-ups to ganks (only second to Thresh, as he has lantern)
Best mobility on a support
Safe map control (w ward w)
One shot machine
Tilt-inducing
Disgusting trade
Aggro ping-pong (pulling aggro back and forth as they don't know who to focus)
Strong early, mid, late game (cause you can ult frequently, base damage + scaling is decent)
Buffed this patch as supports have less recovery early on

Cons
Weak defensive stats
Weak against point and click cc
Adc might run it down
High-risk, High-reward
Harder to play than some supports
Falls off when they can cc you before you kill em
Effectiveness relies on your mechanics (mainly on hitting e and decision making)
Low range compared to some other bot lane champs
Nerfed this patch if your hands are not following your brain as LB has minimal defensive stats

Summary

Leblanc has many options to go with, and will work best if your opponents underestimate the damage done, or don't know which options you have.

Remember to pick a person and kill them

You can w to pull aggro and burst someone and pull out, while you're doing that, the team hopefully is smart enough to start attacking them.

Zhonya use is important in teamfights, negating multiple skills aimed at the end of dash is a positive for the team.

The main goal is to win lane and get them to ff by roaming a lot.

Farming the enemy champion is a legitimate tactic.

Don't try this when you can't play Leblanc.
reminder to buy control wards.
Most important rule is to make your enemy team unable to enjoy the game at all.
Cheers.
