First - I go down the defensive mastery tree, so I have the 15% damage reduction. It's a pretty amazing mastery and everything else on the defensive tree is great also.

Second - A Morde should never charge in to a fight, unless he's either well-protected or has his shield up. The shield is just ridiculous. I'd take AP for more shield before resistances any day. I like having enough ap and spell vamp to keep that shield on full most of the time, before I go and buy armor/mr.

Third - I have changed the runes to straight armor/mr. I'm starting the think health runes just suck on Morde and you don't rly need CDR glyphs, when you have a Deathfire.

For any other off-tank champ, I'd agree with you. You need armor/mr. But, with Morde, that just isn't the case. He's tanky no matter what.

It looks better but still you'll need some resists early on, hp alone is useless. Let me quote myself:

Full AP Morde is weak, because he's a "bad caster" due to his spells ranges. Without any resists you're a free kill. Take another look at your items, test new builds. :)

I've given this a pretty massive update/improvement. The ending of the build has changed to add a Deathfire and I've edited some of the writing and added a few more optional last items. I'm pretty confident that this build is quite a bit better than the old one. I'm tempted to even move the Deathfire before the Gunblade.

I might end up getting rid of the WotA too, so you get the Gunblade/Deathfire combo sooner.

Yeah, I'll have to try CDR/spell vamp together on Morde. I have yet to do that. Maybe swap the Thornmail and FoN for a Deathfire and a Guardian Angel. I'll test it and the guide may be changed around if I like what I see.

+1 even tough I dont like using morde with so much defense, you can explain your build that means it works for you and you know what you are doing,

I use frozen heart instead of thorn because when I use ap/spell vamp morde I can die easily if I dont have low cool downs, something that isn't that important for someone who has more survability

The build I have set isn't to be followed to the dot. New game, new situation. Generally, that's the order I build everything.

I like Rylai's early because the slow helps get kills more than a WotA will. As long as I have enough spell vamp from one revolver, I'm ok with waiting a little bit for the WotA. Ofc, there might be some where you need more survivability and will buy the WotA first.

I like rushing the gunblade because it has a killer active that goes great with your ult. Ofc, if the opposing team's AD or AP are owning you, you will want to get armor or mr to counter first, before finishing the Gunblade. I might get either armor or mr before finishing it or I might not, it depends.

Your exact build order might be better overall, but when it comes to the specific order it's best just to play it by the game. In general, that's the order I finish the items. So, that's the order they'll be in the guide. I'm pretty sure you meant Frozen Mallet instead of Frozen Heart btw, but it's outclassed by Rylai's and the slows don't stack.

edit - No, you meant Frozen Heart. There's no reason to get one when I already have a Thornmail. In fact, I would consider any extra armor bad when you want the Thornmail's passive to do damage. I suppose Frozen Heart could make a viable substitution for Thornmail. I think I'd rather have the killer passive than the CDR though.

you should move crystal scepter after WotA then you should get hextech revolver and wait to build gunblade into you have bought FoN and thorn but I would replace thorn for frozen heart in your core build, I will not vote into I see some improvement

It doesn't have 6 points in creeping death lol... It used to have two early points in creeping death, then the rest were all Q,E. I switched it so there's only one point on it now though, instead of two.

Thornmail is a situational item on most champs, but not as much so on Morde. Just about every team will have at least one straight AD carry. So, it will at least be viable in just about every game. If you really won't be using the passive, ofc it can be replaced, but I get it most with Morde. The reason it's better on Morde than on most champs is that it starts hitting back before they penetrate your shield and its passive's damage works together with spell vamp. In other words, you will be taking next-to-nothing from AD.

Also, moving revolver sooner. I've been experimenting somewhat with rushing revolver or even WotA, getting rylai's first, and some other ****. I was going revolver first, then decided going rylai's for the slow, now I just don't know. Both starts work, but I think the revolver might be better. Changing.

6 points in creeping death??? Thornmail is a situational item, maybe against teams with AD.. DOWN VOTED

9-21-0 aren't the best masteries for morde.

Also, you should definitely get a way earlier Revolver.

I think you should get Hextech Revolver earlier if you want to roll spell vamp morde. Not sure that doran can sustain you until Will of the Ancients.
