Just wanted to say I find Lux's Binding Light incredibly useful while you're inevitably being chased by a large train of Cho'Gaths

My personal favorite was stopping Kha'Zixes before they could leap and stealth. Those guys are real time-wasters when you're going for a good round score.

Would masteries like Bounty Hunter, Intelligence, Dangerous Game, Merciless, or Savagery be effective in this game mode?
Also, in the 'run' mode where there a ton of velkoz's (velki??) at the end, how would you recommend dealing with them? Always end up dying near the halfway-3/4 area.

You can gain 5 stacks of Bounty Hunter pretty quickly by killing one of each type of enemy champion. Dangerous Game is amazing in this mode since most enemies are champions. Savagery isn't amazing since it doesn't work on champions, but Wanderer is quite poor anyway. Also it helps a little for non-champion opponents. Merciless is good on any damage guardians, since you can usually sustain your mana just with Dangerous Game and the health pickups on the map. Intelligence is okay for utility champions that spam shields, but since your ultimate resets every round, I don't think it's good on most of the guardians. Taking Precision will also grant you a good amount of pen right away, since you start at level 8.

Running the Vel'Koz gauntlet is arguably the hardest round to clear, as it relies on your team dodging a lot of skillshots and not dying. If your teammate dies, it's very hard to revive them since you have only a few seconds before they're out of the safety zone. I recommend having a tank ( Poppy or another champion build tanky like Ahri stand at the front of the circle and the rest of the team stand a little farther back. Dodge what you can, but if you have to take a hit, it's best if the tank absorbs the damage and the rest of the team can hide behind them.

If this wasn't obvious, you want to clear any enemies that come near the safety zone. Use your CC spells on the enemy champions before they can CC you or your teammates.

There's some RNG in Invasion so it's not guaranteed when you'll get this round. If you get it near the end, it can be really tough because super Vel'Kozes will spawn and channel beams roughly through the center of the safety zone. Just try and stay near the outskirts and avoid the laser. Remember you can use Flash or Arcane Shift to make a break for the final point to end the round early, as soon as the gold circle appears.

This round is definitely clearable, but if you're going for a high score (S, S+), it's very challenging. The easiest way to win quite frankly is to queue with some good players that have solid enough mechanics to dodge skillshots and deal damage at the same time.

How many brain cells did you lose while writing this guide? Was it really worth it? Good luck with the cytostatic treatment!

I played Onslaught 17 times in a row, so I'd say a decent amount of cells lost. Glad I'm done with the missions now so I can return to my lovely summoner's rift. <3

You had the chance to make "Final Comments" a pun and say "Final Comets."

That's actually hilarious but I'm too afraid it'll confuse people. D:
