Hello Friends!

Are you tired of winning games with "OP" champions like Lee Sin, Akali, or Morgana? Tired of playing the support role as Taric? Do you enjoy a challenge? Do you play League of Legends? If you answered yes to any of the following question, then you have come to the right place!

This is a Taric build like none other out there. With this build, you will be the AP carry for your team. Make sure this is extremely clear to your team that you are going to solo mid, and not supporting some loser ad carry like Ashe or Vayne at bottom lane.

Before you ask: "What a troll, how you buy so many items?" Only the first 4 items are the core build. That is: Deathfire Grasp, Sorcerer's Shoes, Rabadon's Deathcap & Lich Bane. The last 2 items are situational, and you should pick them based on your enemies, and how you and your team are doing.

Before we begin this guide, please note that I have put the most important information in front, since I know most of you guys will not be reading everything anyways.

With that said, here are the catch phrases you will be hearing Taric mumble while you play.

Doesn't seem that bad in writing, but when you hear Taric's voice ...

For our Summoner Spells we have chosen:



Ignite: This summoner spell does true damage, which is great for capturing that first blood, or great for finishing off your combo with (since AP Taric aint that strong to being with in the first place).

Flash: Since Taric has no natural escape mechanism, Flash is great for that purpose or for catching enemies. And lets be honest, this is one of the best Summoner Spells in the game.

This will be our core build:

Taric's Imbue and Radiance simply do not do enough damage to kill anyone, so we need to add in Deathfire Grasp to the mix to secure those kills.
These are standard boots for any caster build, as they give decent magic penetration.
This is one of the best hats for any ap champion. Once we get our Deathfire and Boots, we want to grab these.
Increase movement speed, 100% AP damage on your next normal attack, what's not to like?

Your last two items are SITUATIONAL. (Build accordingly)

Want more mana throughout your game? Then you should probably buy Tear of the Goddess early game and upgrade it later. I wanted to fit this some where in the core build, because this will give you a s**t ton of AP.
Are your opponents mainly AP? Swoop this up for some magic resistance and decreased magic resistance for your opponents.
Enemies have too much magic resistance? Get this for 40% magic penetration.
Are you too squishy? Buy this for decent HP, and a built in slow to help chase down enemies.
Do you like gunblades? This gunblade has an active slow, and it gives you AP and damage. Pretty good in my books.
Dying too much? You probably should stick to some real AP heroes, or just buy this.
Does your enemies have too much stun? Banshee's is great for getting out of sticky situations.
Got extra $ lying around? Top off your build with a Elixir of Brilliance


If you feel comfortable enough, go for Mejais. Great cheap source of AP (as long as you can stay alive).

Most of Taric's skills are close ranged, ( Shatter & Radiance), so we want to use our stun: Dazzle first, to cut the distance. After you have stunned your enemy, immediately use your Deathfire Grasp, and then follow up with Radiance and Shatter. If you need a little more damage, make sure to use your Ignite. If you have a decent amount of farm, this combo should finish off any squishie heroes on the battle field.

If you have a Lich Bane, remember to try to squeeze in normal attacks between every skill to maximize damage.

Pros:

1-2 second stun (CC)
Strong heal, especially when going full AP
Low cool-down on all your skills
Regenerates own mana by right clicking
Decently tanky for an AP hero
Satisfaction of owning everyone with

Cons:

Horrible damage unless farmed or fed
Teammates think you are a troll

Yes, these questions get asked a lot:

Q: When I try to call solo mid with Taric my teammates call me a troll and tell me to gtfo.
A: First off, this is not a question. But to answer your dilemma, League of Legends made a cool function called Auto-Lock. Make sure you use this.

Q: When I lane against Morgana, Brand, and other AP heros, i get owned. How can I win my lane?
A: Try a different lane?

Q: Why are you answering in a question form, when you are supposed to give an answer?
A: Why are you so annoying.

Q: I've been playing Taric a lot now, where can I buy his boots? (Armor of the Fifth Age Taric skin)
