Honestly, if you are already running Domination as a main tree, isn't Predator just straight up better? It's even being very popular nowdays in soloQ and I can imagine it being strong, because that way, you can reach your target either way with R or just run closer to knock him up and combo him.

That is for ganks... though I am not sure if it wouldn't hurt his trading potential in jungle though. But I am not really a jungler, it was just a thought.

I usually err on the side of dueling power since a lot of junglers picked right now will put up a fight at early levels. HoB is pretty strong at levels 2 and 3 so it's helpful for scuttle control.

Predator seems viable though. It's honestly been a long time since I've tried it on him (I think I tried it on release but not since then). I'll give it a shot next time I play Cho. Maybe it'll surprise me.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks NDarKnight. :)

Unfortunately jungle Cho'Gath isn't played very much at the moment, which probably accounts for some of the reason why this guide doesn't get as much traffic. At least there are some people making use of it. :)

Updated! I've been trying out Hail of Blades on Cho and so far it seems promising. Try out the page and let me know what you think. :)

What runes would you recommend now that ultimate hat is gone?

Celerity + Waterwalking should be a safe bet for now. If you want, you can try Cheap Shot + Ultimate Hunter but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

I've been running with Cheap Shot and Ultimate Hunter lately and I really like it, since you just need assists for it, its a pretty decent option i think

Removed the Raptors start and I'll have the tweak the jungle routes a bit, but otherwise I'd say the guide is still relevant. There were no big changes to tank items or Cho recently so he plays the same way. I pretty much always feel that maxing out defensive stats gives you a more reliable late game than building Titanic Hydra, but to be fair Titanic is probably the best offensive item on Cho.

In my experience, if you're ahead and can get Righteous Glory and Warmog's Armor, you're already going to win, so building more defense just gives you more insurance in case the enemy team holds out till late game.

If you just wanna have fun or prefer the extra damage then feel free to experiment with Titanic, you might just get punished for it sometimes.

And yeah, I think the runes are still good. Second Wind is better early but I tend to buy Warmog's Armor which makes the sustain pretty pointless later. Unflinching and Demolish are also options but Font of Life is probably the most reliable rune in that tree.

I know some people are going Grasp of the Undying on Cho but currently I still feel that as long as you can hit Rupture, Aftershock is the better choice.

Reorganized the build a bit and removed Spirit Visage and Randuin's Omen (I never ended up building them over other options). The nerf to Gargoyle Stoneplate this patch does hurt Cho'Gath but it shouldn't shake him up too much.

Warmog's armor last item makes no sense as you can take the most out of it early-mid game as it gives almost 100 dmg to ultimate and it will be ready for extended tower sieges. You want it's value from the beginning.

As a last item you might as well go with something else like Randuin's if you don't take Warmog's early.

You can build it in place of Thornmail but it depends on the enemy team. Usually the ADC is strong enough at your 5th item that Thorn is a better buy. I really don't think you can delay any other item. Cinderhulk, boots, Glory and Stoneplate are all crucial for team fights.

Warmog's Armor is a pretty mediocre item late game on most champions, but you'll have around 7000 HP on Cho by that point. There's actually no way to sustain that much health without buying Warmog's, plus as you said it gives a pretty good bonus to your ult. A jungler like Sejuani might get away with an early Warmog's because she has natural resists and doesn't rely on other items as much, but not Cho.

You could build it in place of Stoneplate (and get Stoneplate after) but it's a lot greedier, as you won't have the threat of one-shotting in team fights. That's probably okay if you're ahead.

I've done some builds without Warmog's (mostly against Kog and Kalista) and its absence is notable late game, where being forced to recall costs your team a ton of tempo. It's not as bad early and mid game when recalls are more common.

You can delay Gargoyle. Games will still be pretty skirmish/lane heavy so you just go ultimate a lane with glory -> warmog's. I'd only rush stoneplate second if I was behind in the game but normally just glory -> warmog's -> stoneplate.

You don't build any other damage items on Cho'Gath anyway. You only get different tank items and therefore building Warmog's Armor doesn't really affect your damage output on any other abilities apart from your ultimate. If you include Abyssal Mask as an option, it could lower your damage, but otherwise, it's not really anything.
