Hello, and this is my guide to play and dominate the top lane with a very strong, splitpushing, Udyr. This is a very versatile champion that takes a little while to completely master. But, after you master Udyr in the top lane, you will dominate your lane against almost any champion! In this guide, I will be explaining all of the items, runes, and masteries you will need to dominate the top lane and be a split-pushing beast!

Udyr's runes are very simple and do not need much of an explanation. His passive grants attack speed after changing forms. Therefore, AS marks proc well with his passive. Other than that, standard AD runes work very well with Udyr. Udyr's seals, however, are a bit different. It is personal preference, but I have found that seals of scaling health work very well with Udyr, granting him 175 EXTRA hp at level 18. This gives him just a bit more tankiness which could mean the difference between a win and a loss in a teamfight. Also, you are the tank and a very good initiator so these runes will help you stay alive as you will be in the middle of the entire other team. Flat AD quints work very well, along with flat MR glyphs which just add to your tankiness.

Masteries are very simple on Udyr. The only difference is that you want to go deeper into the defensive tree since you are going to be initiating onto the enemy team. Because of this, you are going to want more defensive masteries.

Sunfire Cape is a very good item on Udyr. The AoE damage + the damage from tiger form just melts many of the enemy champions. Also, Ravenous Hydra is very good item on Udyr also because of the AoE damage aswell as lifesteal. This will allow you to sustain in teamfights aswell as in lane. These two items combined with a Frozen Mallet will allow you to stick onto your target and deal ridiculous amounts of damage.
