Opening

This build is mostly a detailed account of how i play Ashe in the first 5 minutes of the game. For those interested i put the entire build order in there just as a general sense of where you are going but for the most part this is just the opener.

Given the recent patch, going for Doran's items has become less and less appealing to me, and so i started experimenting with some heavy potion builds. I came across the current build in a custom game against my friends. I decided "What would happen if i started with an elixir of fortitude? It gives me more health and more damage than Doran's blade." one of my buddies also pointed out that the 3% life steal you got off the blade could be easily outdone by buying a few health potions with the extra gold. So i tried it in a few custom games........

It dominated.

Having the +10 damage instead of the +9 made a HUGE difference in the first few shots. 16% Armor Pen + Guaranteed crit (Ashes passive will give you a 100% if you wait until the minions hit your turret before laying out ANY attacks at all" + a hit with an opening volley will take out half if not almost all of any champions health. and if they survive and get a good nuke off on you in return odds are they don't have potions. You do. As for the summoner spells, well they should be obvious. I personally prefer ghost and clarity. Ashe has mana issues and clarity means i can throw out volleys when i want to and keep the enemy mid back, and if you pop clarity right as the the first minion waves meet in the middle, then you can get up in your opponents face and get some good damage off (Maybe even a kill). but if you don't play that way you could easily substitute Exhaust for ghost and be fine.

Obviously you want to start with volley because it can open into a dangerous combo with your first Crit. then i get one in hawk shot and one in frost arrow then alternate between volley and hawk with your ultimate until they are maxed then max frost shot. this plays nicely into the whole "Aggression" mindset, allowing you to get serious gold by farming and denying mid as much as you can.

After that you can really transition into any build you can, but you can see the build i go for, and you can try it on your own. Refining this build has made me respect the power of the potions.

I hope you enjoy and have fun!
