Good idea for building soraka, but I take GP 10 runes and get the bonus gold in utility as well as the masteries... I just see so many guides calling for heavy AP items, and that's nice on soraka for her heals, but would you want to get a zeke's herald and soul shroud for bot with a heavily mana-hungry champion, like Sivir or Ezreal? I typically start my build with a mana manipulator and then get gp10. should I rush GP10 as quickly as possible, considering my runes and masteries is essentially a gp5 at beginning plus that nice 40 gold.

Thanks for this. Everything you said sounds about right with my own ideas of the support role. Theoretically, they'll be focusing your carries anyway so aura will be more helpful for them then armor or MR to protect yourself. If you stay in position I don't see how the lower "survivability" will be hurtful to you, similar to when I build glass-cannon AP Carries. Her upcoming remodeling swayed my decision to give her a try and your guide has been a huge help. Its detailed about your role in the match and you give very persuasive reasons for the items you choose.

Taught me a lot about support to read this. For anyone attempting to play support and being less familiar with the roll, this is the place to go. I'll be forwarding this to many in the future I'm sure. Well, when I'm not placing wards that is :P

Thanks, Freaky Guy? For the +1.

Yeah, i reckon the masteries could change a bit depending on play style, and i might make another cheat sheet with optional picks. And i found that as long as you dont get out of position, this build is incredibly viable late game, with all the auras and such.

I did not think this build would work, until i tried it. I disagree with the masteries as well, but it all works out in late game. Very detailed, lots of info, and great depth.

Well, opinions i say. I focus on maxing CDR asap to spam your heals, and getting items that provide useful auras for your team. Everyone has different tastes, and there is no perfect guide to doing it right, because there is more than 1 way to play successfully. Mine just is not as popular, i guess :p

Anyways, thanks for not downvoting i guess, and the useful criticism.

There are so many subpar decisions that I don't know where to start :o

1. There is no need to take CDR on runes.
2. Locket of the Iron Solari and Soul Shroud are both pretty bad items.
3. Exhaust is a pretty good choice.
4. Masteries in utility are off in general.

On the other hand I like the contents of your guide, pretty in depth though you could add some more info about team fights :)

I like the idea of all the auras, my only issue like most of the above said ones are being too squishy. Have you considered randuins instead of soulshroud?

Yes, i have, but i use Soul Shroud For the cooldown reduction, as well as fo the Aura. It is a good alternative, and im writing a section about survivability items, in case.

And Halipupu, thanks for the upvote! I plan to add in Oracle's Elixer and Vision Wards in my next addition, which should be in the next day or 2 here. And im also changing the skill sequence to get Starcall at level 8.

And no, i didn't copy your build. Im sure i looked over it at one point or another, as i have read the first 5 or so, but i went through trial and error just like every original guide maker. And again, thanks for the upvote :)

I don't know why this guide has gotten downvotes so much, because this guide has potential and you've formatted your guide quite well. You explain your chosen items although I have a few things to say: getting Zeke's Harbinger isn't really beneficial unless you have many AD carries in your team which shouldn't happen in Ranked games, therefore getting Aegis of the Legion earlier would be better suited for your team to get some survivability. Also I think that's good enough for survivability even though other people complain, but as a Soraka you should position yourself in the back where you will not be dying.

Also, mention Oracle's Elixir and Pink wards, since those are important in Ranked games, especially getting Oracle is since if you get it, you won't need as many pink wards as you would without.

Starcall is a useful spell which will help your AP carries do more damage and it will earn you some nice assists as well, so I'd get that far earlier because you can manage with lower level Infuse.

Other than those things your chosen items are freakishly similar to my build, which is the second on the Soraka build list, so I really hope you're not copying my build since even your runes are exactly same. If you're not copying and you just simply came up with the same conclusion as I did, that this works for Soraka, you earn this +1.
