IE is a must on any carry that's going to do sufficient damage to anyone. I would forget about Stark's and worry about trading off Black Cleaver or Bloodthirster to grab an Infinity Edge to ensure damage in the mid-game phase. Grab Phantom Dancer after IE and then worry about getting some more utlity style damage items like Black Cleaver when you are positive the other team is going for extra Armor in the late game phase.
I thought many will say this. Infinity Edge is a very good item, I agree. But I find it more than costly for what it can do. With that gold you ensure a bloodthirster and half of the stark's . The ideea of this build is to enable Vayne players a decent DPS with huge Life Steal. Thus enabling them to prolong battle time. This is like i stated, my own build, that suits my game style. I would sacrifice AD for AS/Life Steal simply because Vayne is usually focused. In ranked CC is also focused as many of you know. Vayne is of no use if she dies in 2 hits and cant even use her skills .
IE is great, but for Vayne, in my opinion, AS/Life Steal and armor pen is what makes her best. With this build I survived 1 vs 3 fights and won with 50% HP or more. With IE I usually end up dead, killing 1 enemy. The main purpose of this build is survivability without trading off offensive items.
Just an important note: Surge is quite bad because Vayne has absolutely nothing to do with AP. If you check the tooltips of Tumble and Condemn you will notice they scale of AD ;)
