About me
I main Vel'Koz in ranked so far he is by far the funniest/strongest champion in my opinion. Currently i'm in Plat working my way up like the rest of us. I figured since i'm having so much success with this champ ill share what iv learned maybe help 1 or 2 people along the way. As of right now im 55 games played with Vel with a 65% win rate. My KDA is 3.78:1 and according to some website rank 544 in the world. Un sure if thats decent or bad.

Ability's
The clip below shows Vel'koz Organic Deconstruction and his Life Form Disintegration Ray Including the passive to Life Form Disintegration Ray Researched. Notice how I don't ult until 1. I am safe 2. My ultimate's passive Researched has been proc'ed.







Organic Deconstruction is your passive which when activated deals 25 + (8 × level) (+50% of ability power) as true damage. Not a passive to take lightly it is very powerful with high AP scaling it will probably take the enemy's by surprise when it activates and they get chunked after you chunking them with 3 spells. In lane if you can get this off it is great for poking but i find most people are smart enough to not get hit 3 times in the 7 seconds between spells you have to activate it but if they do and your level 6 the odds are your getting a kill.





Plasma Fission is the iconic ability of Vel'Koz
the better you get at landing this spell and weaving it through minions and learning to get max range, The better at Vel'Koz you will become. Remember that killing a unit with Plasma Fission will grant 50% mana refund so if you get a Luden's Tempest around 12 minutes you can one shot casters and get 150% of mana back. This ability is also what sets you up for landing a Tectonic Disruption which is how you start you're whole combo. This ability takes some time to master and with time you will learn the in's and out's of its range.
Adding more to this- There is no reason to face check with velkoz. You probly have ludens and arcane comet if following this guide. So when trying to get wards throw this ability at the Bush it will pop comet and show you where someone is exactly where. You have the mana use it.




Void Rift Is a very simple spell but at the same time a very important one. This is your main farming spell 2 Void Rift at rank 3 will kill most of the wave if your not super behind. In some match ups you do want to grab 3 ranks in this before your Plasma Fission just to be able to keep up with how hard your enemy laner is pushing you. It is also a great spell for stacking up your Organic Deconstruction and activating your Ultimate's passive (Research) more on that in the Life Form Disintegration Ray Section.





Tectonic Disruption Is your only cc other then your slows it will save you more times then you can count if used right. As it will also be what you miss or it gets dodged and you end up dead for missing. You do not want to waste this ability at rank 1 with 0 CDR its a big 16 sec CD. Missing this ability vs anyone who wants to jump on you will right after especially if your alone. I'm not saying be scared to use it i'm just saying be considerate that if its on CD and someone jumps onto you the odds are your dead. Things to think about in team fights is if a assassin or tank jumps onto your ADC land this ability right and you will not only save your ADC but kill whoever just tried to kill them to.





Life Form Disintegration Ray is your enemy/tank killer due to its high damage and all of it being true damage if done right. First off i'm gonna touch on Life Form Disintegration Ray passive (Researched) which not many people know how it works exactly I for one did not know when I first started playing Vel'Koz. What this passive does is once you hit 6 and you land 3 ability's activating your passive Organic Deconstruction they will also gain Researched which turns all of your Life Form Disintegration Ray damage into True damage which destroys tanks. Champions like Alistar with his ultimate Unbreakable Will reduces his damage taken by 55%/65%/75% but if you have him Researched its 0% and all of your Life Form Disintegration Ray damage will hit him destroying him in seconds. The second thing I will touch on with his ult is when someone has just escaped your team or is super low under the turret you can catch them with ez unless it is someone like Ezreal which you have to know if he has used Arcane Shift recently because you don't wanna just waste your ult on someone who can just jump out of it. Last thing in this section for his ult is when using it try to activate your passive before ulting or your just wasting damage. Now obviously you don't always need to get the passive off if there low enough its just to secure the kill at the point without anyone risking diving in or anyone chasing to far.

Here is a clip of Vel'Koz crazy early damage to show you how easy it is at 6 to land a kill. (I swapped with my top to get them a better lane.)
Combo's
This will be the last and way shorter chapter of this guide. i'm going to talk about combos that you will generally go for as most of them are pretty instinctive. First off is the simple Plasma Fission for the 70% slow for 1 second at rank 1 up to 2.6 seconds maxed which is plenty of time to land a Tectonic Disruption knocking them up and throwing a Void Rift under them activating your passive and your ultimate passive immediately followed up by Life Form Disintegration Ray to deal all true damage to your target.

So Plasma Fission > Organic Deconstruction x1 > Tectonic Disruption >

Organic Deconstruction x2 > Void Rift > Organic Deconstruction x3/x4 >

Life Form Disintegration Ray > Organic Deconstruction x5/x6/x7 apply a stack

every 0.7 seconds.

Now for team fights the odds are your not going to get a perfect combo your probably going to start with a Tectonic Disruption or a Plasma Fission follow by a quick Void Rift and finally your ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray. Generally your Void Rift will always come second just because after a Plasma Fission or Tectonic Disruption you will actually be able to land the first and even second part of Void Rift.
