Taliyah Passive Ability
Threats & Synergies
Playing Taliyah against Blitzcrank is rough. Like playing any other champion against blitz, if you dodge the hook, the lane should be easy to win. If you get hooked continuously, a more passive-defensive playstyle should be played.
Playing Taliyah against Thresh is probably the worst match up I've come across yet. Level 2 is the best time for thresh to fight. For Taliyah it's level 1 and 3. If you can land enough harrass and hit level 2-3 before your lane opponent, you will have dominance over the lane.
Playing Taliyah against Morgana isn't too bad. I put her as a threat due to her E, Black shield, and the binding can prove to be troublesome if landed constantly.
Playing Taliyah against Alistar can go either way. Level one, Taliyah has complete control over the enemy due to being a ranged mage and Alistar also not having his combo yet. Level 2 is when it can be rough if you give up a kill. Like thresh, if you poke enough level one and don't position badly to get hit by a W / E combo from alistar, the lane should play out well.
Playing Taliyah against Brand comes down to whoever can land their abilties.
Playing Taliyah against Janna is very simple. Janna offers basically no harras, just support with her shields. You're able to position very easily and poke, when playing against her.
Playing Taliyah against Karma, like Brand, comes down to who can poke more and help get their ADC ahead. Position behind minions when her Mantra Q is up, then position more aggressively when it's not.
Playing Taliyah against Leona can be troublesome. Level 1 you need to play aggressively because Leona has no engage. Level 2 play a little more passive and be aware that she is looking to engage with a E / Q combo. After she engages with that, you can poke when she tries to retreat.
Playing Taliyah against Lulu comes down to who can poke more. Landing poke level 1 with Taliyah Q and showing presence in the land can determine who will come out ahead. Landing W / E combos followed by Q will be huge and may result in a kill.
Playing Taliyah against Nami is matchup in which you need to pressure her to heal defensively. To clarify, a Nami player will always walk up to get her W ability to bounce off your ADC and back to her so she can poke and take little damage in return. You need to poke the Nami, which will cause her to retreat and heal out of range of you. Best case scenario would be to all in her with a W / E combo + ignite.
Playing Taliyah against Zyra can be difficult due to her plants blocking your Q. The best thing to do would be to poke at level 1 - 2 and at level 3 all in with ignite if you land your combo.
Playing Taliyah against Malz support is extremely difficult. The voidlings block Taliyah's Q's and absorb the damage and also Malz's passive proves to be troublesome also. This is a very hard match up because every trade you try to take with the enemy you will most likely take more damage, unless you can land a w + e combo and burst one of the enemy champions down then proceed to kite back out of the void lings. Otherwise wait for jungle pressure.
This is a quick guide of Taliyah support, which has proven to be both very fun and successful for myself. I play Taliyah because I highly enjoy the champion, not because she is a meta pick. She is a non-meta champion but I've found success skillfully playing her in the bot lane. Whether you've been playing Taliyah for a long time or a short while, this guide may prove to make an impact and better your Taliyah play-style. I really hope you enjoy the guide and overall I hope it helps you become the best version of yourself as a Taliyah player!

High early game damage, poke and lane presence.
Can displace priority targets with W. (Great for laning phase)
Can separate an enemy from the rest of his/her team with her ultimate,
thus initiating a teamfight in your favor.
Can be built as a mage/support (Buying some AP items and support items
which provides the best of both worlds). (Refer to build above).
Taliyah can wall off priority objectives such as: towers, baron, dragon and champions to make it easier for your team to obtain or kill.
Wait, actually there might be a few..
Playing behind as Taliyah support, as with any champion, can be difficult.
Taliyah has no support abilities (Ex. Karma E, Nami W, Soraka W, etc).
Using Taliyah wall may negatively effect your own teammates instead of the enemy team. One must practice using her wall correctly.
People may see this as a "troll" pick in the support role.
