Runes

So here's my reasoning of my rune selection which should be pretty self explanatory. For the first build I go with Armor Pen Reds, Flat Armor Yellows, Flat CDR Glyphs, and Flat Armor Pen Quints.
Okay let me get into a little detail for my first team runes armor pen reds are a must on any AD champs in the game overall. For Yellows i go flat armor reason being it helps with early survivability in the early game phase. For my blues i go with flat CDR because this helps with being able to spam EVERYTHING. and for Quints i take flat armor pen for that heavy dmg output.

BUILD 2

For quints i pick flat HP to give that beefy look not only in the HP bar but also in actions
early game during the harass game they will notice how beefy you are. For reds i take the normal flat armor pen reds to deal the most dmg you can. For yellows i take HP per lvl runes to continue that tanky feel to your champ. For Blues i choose my magic resistance blues to also help with becoming an off tank.

Masteries/Summoner Spells

In masteries i take the standard 21/0/9 set to give the greatest amount of dmg output on any build you put on riven. This set of masteries maximizes the amount of dmg and the amount of CDR you can get from the masteries you chose.

Flash and ghost are a must on riven because these are so helpful with a get away or a chase or even a team fight. Flash is used in a team fight to reach those pesky ranged champs that hide behind your tank or your DPS carry *wink wink* (Xerath).

Items

Throughout testing many different builds with riven this is my favorite and my winning build.
If i think about it i rarely go negative with riven with both of these builds. To start off
i pick a long sword and a HP pot. This is to start my brutalizer which is a must have in the
early/mid game phase. The armor penetration it gives is unbelievable on riven. After picking
up my brutalizer i tend to get a boots of speed or my merc treads if i have the money which
most of the time you should. After getting your brutalizer you should be able to kill your
opponent with ease. You should be able to farm enough money for your B.F. sword but if you
feel you need more HP you can buy your phage first. After picking up one of those items just
farm enough to buy the other one you didnt buy hahahaha. After that phase i usually finish
my B.F. sword into an Infinity Edge. By now it should be later into the game and you should
be tanky and be very hard to kill. Most of the time the game should be ending soon so there
is no need to go furter but if it does here is what happens. If the game is still going on
the next item i finish is my frozen mallet. After going through the mid game phase late game is where it is really easy for you to drop people with ease. Finishing the build with a Blood Thirsterfor that amazing life steal combined with rivens passiveis AWESOME i might add. After buying your Blood Thirster you can move onto finishing your Youmuu's Ghostblade for an active that will help with chasing and running. If it gets to the point where you are still playing which is an unbelievably long game you finish with the cherry on top last whisperer.
