Master Yi has dominated since the game's inception. If you want your team to be great, you'll need an awesome AD carry like Yi. This build will get you going in the right direction for Yi, or you can follow it to the letter and lose. Every game has variables and this is NOT the end all guide for Dominion Yi.
Yi is easy to play, in fact he is one of the easiest champions in all of LoL. So easy that most can pick up and play him with no problems in Dominion. To play a successful Master Yi in Dominion games you need a few things: Crit, Damage, Mobility. Enemies will cower at the sight of you coming and run away from any tower capture they may have in progress just because you're not shown on the minimap.
Since Yi starts off so fast, and he has cheap boots, you should capture the mid CP while three of your teammates head to the top to capture the windmill, before the battle up top even begins you should have already captured the Mid CP and be heading to the speed boost to get quickly to the top. A lot of people mistake the speed boost way as slower, but it is faster by a second or so.. And in dominion, a few seconds counts.
If you see your team losing the Windmill by the time you get there and there is nobody guarding their turret opposite you and closest to the windmill(Drill and Refinery) run for that, begin a capture, that will draw enough aggro from the windmill so that you team can grab it or make a great comeback, and even if it draws no aggro from the opposing team, you got yourself an extra turret.
By the time the big fight in the beginning is over, you should be well on your way to getting Infinity Edge.
His runes give him excellent Critical damage and Armor Penetration. Large and by far Yi's hardest to kill opponents are Tanky Turret Sitters. The ARP runes lower their ability to resist your pure AD and give you a chance to get in and get out quickly, like Yi was made for. Since you are itemized for damage and Crit Chance, the extra Crit Damage runes will give you a great chance to score extra kills in battle with awesome crits.
This Yi build itemizes Mobility first, you can take the first two items right off the bat, given that the Bezerkers greaves are such a low price. Then move on to building into infinity edge(WHAT? INFINITY EDGE SO EARLY?) Yes, the gold it takes to get Infinity Edge is easily gotten very early in Dominion. Then build into Zeal to increase your mobility, furthering it to Phantom Dancer to make yourself even faster while still buffing your Crit. Combined with your runes you will easily be knocking squishier characters down in a couple of hits around level 12.
To successfully kill the enemy you have to master Yi's simple, but effective, rotation, and you have to be able to 'kill steal.' In fact, when Yi 'kill steals' from his team, all of his cooldowns are entirely reset, leaving you with your ultimate up as well as your Wuju style totally refreshed, giving you no negative effects for using it, but if someone else gets the kill you are crippled for a little while, awaiting your cooldowns.
First, Q (Alpha strike), while Alpha Strike is in progress tap Exhaust on your target and hit E, (Wuju Style), as soon as Exhaust ends hit your R, (Highlander) and chase them down.
Examples of how to change up the rotation:
If you are Exhausted at the same time as your opponentw, do not hit Wuju Style, wait until the exhaust wears off and press both Highlander and Wuju style at the same time.
If you are boosted with a natural speed buff from the map, do not bother with highlander until it wears off.
If you are going in 2v1, hit Wuju and Highlander at the same time no matter what and pray.(Not recommended until level 18)
Pros / Cons
Yi has a few Pros and Cons in Dominion as does any champion.
Extreme Damage Output
Insanely fast natural hit speed(with Highlander)
Near instantaneous kills when you catch them off guard
Squishy Characters die in 1 or 2 hits(mages and AD carries)
Generally the point leader.
Not great against Tanky Turret Sitters(ARP items are good if you find one against you)
Can be squishy if you go 2v1(or god forbid 3v1)
Older champion, most people are familiar with how he plays.
People like to queue lock him quickly.
I personally play Yi very aggressively, if you do not possess the wherewithal to do so, you will not like this Yi build. But if you stick with it and learn it, you will do very well with your own personal score.
