Champion Build Guide
Spells to always run
The "No Boots"
build for Yorick is centered around maximizing early power and focusing on scaling into a formidable late-game bruiser. The key to this build is that you don't lose out on movement speed by skipping boots. With 385 movement speed, you match the speed provided by
, allowing you to focus on more impactful items that enhance Yorick's survivability and damage potential.
Starting with
Doran's Blade and a
Health Potion gives you a solid early game and 3 stacks of
Jack of All Trades, allowing you to farm effectively and sustain yourself in lane. From there, rushing
Hullbreaker as your first item grants significant lane dominance.
Phantom Dancer and
Spear of Shojin provide important benefits to Yorick. Phantom Dancer offers 60% attack speed, turning Yorick into a mini-Jax with a lot of movement speed—especially the permanent ghosting effect, which is amazing in teamfights. Not to mention, Phantom Dancer helps you significantly proc Hullbreaker's passive. Spear of Shojin is a no-brainer after the new changes to Yorick while being extremely gold efficient.
Black Cleaver adds damage and helps you shred through tanky opponents, further solidifying your presence in skirmishes and teamfights. Plus, it gives you extra movement speed and is gold-efficient, too.
The rune setup of
Conqueror,
Triumph, and
Cut Down synergizes exceptionally well with Yorick's playstyle. It enhances his extended trades, sustains him through healing during fights, and amplifies his overall damage output.
Cash Back offers excellent value by quickly compensating for its cost, allowing you to invest without delaying other purchases, such as boots. In most games,
Cash Back can yield between 750 to 950 gold value. Additionally, the
Jack of All Trades nature of the rune setup provides 6 AD and 8 Ability Haste late game, equating to an approximate gold value of 380 gold—making it both versatile and cost-efficient.
Overall, this build allows Yorick to scale well in all phases of the game, including mid and late game, making you always ahead of your opponent in terms of items—even when behind!
Extra tip: Buying
Titanic Hydra as your 3rd item when behind helps you get back into the game by farming more efficiently and faster!
