I'll give it a try, just for the fun of it! I do agree, you can add some (read: a lot) of extra chapters. I do like the fact that you explain some situations and you have explained alot in detail. However, still important parts are missing. (item choice, skill explanation, etc.)

I was gonna say this should be under Humor along with the AP tank Amumu one but uh... it isn't nearly humorous enough.

Wow. I thought that throatslasher was just being harsh, but I see that he's actually right.

Runes are all wrong with the exception of maybe MS Quints, you have points in needless places in your masteries, your skillset order is all wrong (for one, you don't max anything by level 9) and you can't take your ultimate at level 15. You max W first because it's the most mana efficient for the amount of damage that it deals.

Atma's Impaler only really shines when you have hp exceeding at least 3K hp and Jax has no real need for crit. If you need armor, Guardian Angel is much better.

Jax needs better boots than Berserker's Greaves.

And your guide needs to be better formatted. Walls of text = no reads = bad guide.

Klavkalash, why Max W first when it does less damage? Dark Percy, Atma's is still crucial for the crit and the armor. Not to mention the extra gold.

Stop wasting time trying to fix this.

On a lighter note, congratulations. So far, this is the worst guide of 2013. I award you no upvote, and may god have mercy on your soul.

Having items/runes/masteries that make you stay alive for longer will in fact make you deal more damage in the long run.

Look at it this way. Let's say you have a full DPS Jax, a full tank Jax and Tanky DPS Jax.

For the sake of simplicity, let's say:

Full DPS Jax deals 600 damage per second but dies in 2 second from enemy's focus because he is so squishy. So in fact he will deal 1200 total damage.

Full Tank Jax deals 120 damage per second and has much more tankiness than needed to stay alive for an entire teamfight. Let's say the teamfight lasts 10 seconds so he will deal a total of 1200 damage.

Tanky DPS Jax deals 300 damage per second and stays alive for the whole teamfight, he will deal 3000 damage total.

These are of course just imaginary numbers but in the game it's pretty much the same concept. Building Tanky will make you stay alive for longer so you will be able to deal damage for longer (more damage in total).


So I suggest you try a mix between damage and survivability :P.

Also, Atma's Impaler isn't really a good item to get unless you have a lot of Health (and your build doesn't include so much health so it's not worth it).

Finally, you can't use brackets like this [[maw of malmortius]] in your items/runes/masteries description :P. It won't show an icon, just code.

You max your W first. Than your Q. E is the last, you can first put a point in it at level 4.

i do suggest explaining all of your item choices as some people would be ready to disagree and say that jax is mainly a hybrid character. Also you need to explain Jax's abilities as people will not be able to tell what he does if your a new reader or lol player. I see you have Trinity Force in your build which does offer AP to your build. Make sure to add other viable items to your build as that will give different paths for neccesary situations. I hope this helps.
