No. That is EXACTLY what you DON'T want to do. Look at any professional sig (Xiao's and Scrax's, which are 3 of the examples, aren't far from pro) the text is always kind of hidden. You DON'T want it near the focus, then it draws away from the attention too much.
Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!
Yeah you definitely want the render being the main focus in a signature, unless its a typography signature. Text is just there for show, namesake, or to help confront the sig itself such as my signature, the SNSD one. Its sooyoung. and i've put SNSD Sooyoung.

Focus point established: malzahar
How: background slightly blurred in comparison to render
#2
Focus point established: malzahar
How: background slightly blurred in comparison to render and lighting helps improve this to express a further focal area.
#3
Focus point established: text then malzahar
How: text is over exceeding the focus of the render, drawing our eyes firstly towards text then overall sig. It's a distracting area and no matter how hard you try your eyes slightly is drawn to the text. This isn't typography... this is a signature, a signature that someone requested malzahar. So the focus is malzahar!
#4
Focus point established: malzahar then text
How: text is less distracting and over exceeding. Nothing special added, lowered opacity and more fitting towards the background to make it hidden. If someone is curious to what the signature is related by in terms of whom its for, or what it expresses, they can illustrate this approach through the text.

I mean the focus point is one of the main elements for a good sig, 1st one being flow. But its just small things that make a difference i suppose, i mean if you take #1 and compare to #4 its such a small difference. But it has a large impact on the majority of viewers.
