What Throatslasher says has merit, but only to a certain degree. Everyone needs to have some form of belief system, even if it is the belief that no kind of deity exists.

The way you use the word belief indicates that you actually mean 'faith.' Atheism doesn't require belief or faith. Atheism is not a religion, a world-view, or a belief system. It is a rejection of a claim. Billions make the claim 'there is a god' and atheists analyze the evidence theists put forth and reject it. Just because you don't think unicorns are real doesn't mean you have a 'belief system' about unicorns. It means you reject the claim.

God (personally I prefer the term Destiny but hey who knows) is not going to bail you out unless you meet him half way. He will throw opportunities at you, you have to get at them on you own accord, ask that girl to Homecoming, the pep rally, or whatever.

Wow, those are some bold assertions you make about god/destiny. You seem to have a basic understanding of god/destiny. Do you have any proof?

Keep this on topic, people. If you have nothing more to say about the OP's question, then stop posting. If this thread continues to derail, I'm locking it (especially since this isn't even the OT subforum).
Thanks to Minho for the sig!

I prefer playing as women on the internet. If I wanted to play a man, i'd just go outside and be a man. Being a lady is fun. It's entertaining to be pretty. You should see my GW2 character. mesmer asura. I made her as anime as possible and put her in all pink and purple clothes. I look like a freakin' doll, I love it.

In League, gender doesn't make much of a difference to me (I'm usually drawn in by a champion's kit), but I think usually in third person games I like having at least one female character. First person not so much.

You were raised a hardcore christian? I knew there was some psychological damage there!

Man, let me tell you how it's gonna be. You're going to wind up a 40 year old man wishing, WISHING, you had slayed as much ***** as possible when you were in your teens. I apologize for the language, but this is important. You need to have fun in your teens, because you don't get those years back. Since you're a christian, you can go do whatever you want, and then repent on your deathbed and receieve absolution. Remember, grace through faith, not works.

I'm surprised you're sixteen. you have the maturity level of a 9 year old.

Again, none of this is a personal attack, it's just my observation of the world around me. When the material changes, i'll adjust my material.

Also, and I hope you truly listen to me, God is a fairy tale. God is beYOND illogical, therefore, logical people shouldn't believe he exists. When someone says you need to have faith, that means that you have to beleive something WITHOUT EVIDENCE. Since I live in a place called reality, I can only determine what is real and what isn't real by the evidence around me. If God existed and wanted me to believe in him, he would make himself known to me. Why wouldnt' he just come down to earth every 20 years and say what's up to everyone on earth? Wouldn't that save billions and billions of people from going to hell? God doesn't seem very compassionate.

Let me pose another scenario. If you were born in afghanistan, you would be muslim. you would swear allah is god and mohammed is his prophet. If you were born to a jewish family, you'd be jewish. Yahweh would be your god, and you would not accept christ. if you were born 2000 years ago in rome, you would be sacrificing cattle to the god of thunderclouds. See where I'm going with this? What makes christianity more right than Islam?
[/quo

if God came down every 20 years him coming down would be meaningless and it would do nothing to save people and illogical if you take a science class youll notice that everything just fits together to absolute perfection even down to the atoms it takes more faith to ignore how absolutely complex creation is than to realize its God

Psi y u have to ruin my fun. >.>

I play women 100% of the time in any game that gives me an option because I think women are just great. If I'm gonna stare at an *** for 50 hours it might as well be a female ***. Plus, badass women in armour with giant swords/guns are pretty ****ing cool.

This doesn't really apply to LoL though because it's top down and the graphics aren't exactly amazing to begin with.

Atheism is a religion, but not in a conventional sense. Religion is defined as a core set of beliefs, even if those beliefs revolve around something not existing. Atheism hinges on the fact that there is no physical proof that God exists. And while that is true, absence of evidence is evidence of absence. Ultimately it is a choice. whether to believe or not, or as you put it 'reject,' all comes down to choice, which leads to my next argument.

Life hinges on our ability to choose. My second claim that you quoted revolves around this fact. Opportunities are everywhere. I don't need to show you any proof on this, you simply need to think about life as a series of choices. You have the opportunity to steal, lie, cheat, and do other things that people will say are 'bad' or you can do good by not doing these things. The choice is yours whether or not you are a 'good' person or otherwise. The same thing can be said for this situation: the OP can stand firm in the beliefs that he was raised in, or he can decide that these beliefs are not for him and stick his **** in anything he wants to. Either way it is his choice on what to do. We can only suggest what he does and give him advice on the topic.

The choices I am suggesting the OP to make are from my personal experience on the subject, and I will not suggest someone to throw away a critical part of his life and beliefs. This thread more than likely should have revealed to the OP more than anyone an insecurity that should be worked on and overcome. But only the OP can make that choice.
