Mobafire got a terrible reputation when some of the top guides were literally the same - terrible. Popular vote and all, and heck, I can probably build AP
So Solomid seemed better - the "pros" were there, wrote guides... Except then everybody followed and wrote guides, and suffered from the same problem mobafire had. It used to be good, and now its terrible if not worse. I thought for a while "If i can get my LB guide there, i would be so much better off with regards to exposure." Problem was, their coding was abominable. There was no way I could put my guide there without the browser freezing and crashing.
LoL pro guides either contradict themselves, or if they are correct, don't go into the detail and effort that many guides on mobafire have. They assume people know the game already and nuances to finer mechanics, whereas the better guides will teach you from the ground up.
It'll probably take a while to get a decent reputation for Mobafire again, but things like that are earned and not given.
