Might be good, but what if you get some troll build that someone finds on the front page of the site and uses, thinking it's good?

Maybe it would, but what's to say that someone new to the sight and a very new LoL player would see it and use it anyway? They might think "it's on the front page so it must be good!".
I'd like to see something like a "Spotlight", per se, similar to veteran recommendations but only on guides with less than 70% upvotes or something - which puts them on the front page.

Probably within X days of being updated and no more than X days old as well. Also being under a score like, 70% as well. Also, no "new" guides. Like, more than 5 days old but no more than 2 months. There would be some randomness involved of course.
If you look on the browse page in the right hand column there is a number of top lists/charts.
