wouldn't be like in school the higher your grade is the easier it is to bring down? Unless it's like unrealistically high and you have a bunch of extra credit.(<--That would be the guides with 300+ votes)
Anyways, I was actually curious about this myself as well.

The short version: Your score is weighted towards roughly 50%. The more votes you get, the lighter this weight is. The same formula is applied to all guides, even those with high vote counts, they just have less of a weight on them.
So I see this post out after I read everything in the guide :(

Yesterday: 25/25 votes are up votes, Guide rating 89%
Today: 27/28 votes are up votes, Guide rating 87%
So overnight I got two up votes and one down vote, and went down two percent? This would mean down votes carry somewhere around six times the weight of up votes?
Reasoning to this conclusion is simply that the last few percent have been 2 ups= 1 percent. So if the two ups equaled 1 percent, the one down vote was equivalent to 6 ups since it first canceled out the ups then dropped the score of the guide 2%
Note: This really isn't a QQ thread, though I realize it may sound like it. I am genuinely curious as to how the voting system works.
-edit- I should've read the frequently asked questions before. Sorry.
