A few of my friends prefer to play locked camera when they are using a skill shot heavy champ. (i.e Lux, Ezreal,etc). I don't typically use that type of champ so I can't attest to it. I've always used the free roaming camera, so I guess I'm just used to that. I just feel like its easier to pay attention to whats going on all over the map if I can just jump right over to it. I think it's really just what your used to and enjoy.
I always play with unlocked camera. It just takes some practise, but keep doing it and you will get there. Tip: Hit spacebar to get the camera centered on your champion.

iv been playing locked camera every time i play but i just assume that people who play with the camera unlocked have a better feel for whats going on, where they can best be used ect. i wanna try with unlocked just to see how it works. thanks guys!
It's easier to get used to if you've played RTS games I suppose. It's better to play with it unlocked and use the space bar if you ever need to follow your champion.
