^ That's why you have armed guards. Even the churches do it, so why not have the teachers of schools learn how to shoot a gun? I'd rather have 1-2 people killed and a gunman killed than to have it raise to 20 like this.

Terrible tragedies such as what occurred in an elementary school in Connecticut today affect everyone, even those half a world away. When children are punished for the mistakes of the adults, doesn't it scream to society that things need to be changed? It is extremely saddening to think that only an event such as this is what is needed before public awareness is brought to the issue. The Christmas period is supposed to be a giving one; those families affected have nothing left to give. I'm sorry for your loss.
