As an aside: having lived, within memory, on food stamps as a child, I highly doubt many people who qualify for food stamps can actually afford much in the order of crack or many other illegal drugs given how low of an income you generally need to have to qualify.
Ben Carson looks pretty promising. While I don't like to affiliate with any political parties, I think that the country would be OK if he was elected. The guy is definitely smart and had to ability to learn what it takes to fulfill a role in the Oval Office.
I have no doubt that the period following trumps inauguration, should be get elected, would be one of the most prosperous for the US. That guy knows how to make money! However, his turbulent behavior is indeed a worrying trend in the scope of foreign policy.
I still haven't made up my mind about Bernie yet.

Just because someone knows how to make a lot of money on a personal level, doesn't mean they can make money on a national level. If he does get elected, I feel like the US is going to go in an even deeper hole than it is already.

I don't know what his college programme is, but in the Netherlands our universities are super cheap and accessible for pretty much everyone without the huge debts. It is an illusion that socialist reforms have to put a country in massive debts.

Adjuncts people who quite often have their doctorate mind you make somewhere around $1200-2500 a class at least in the Midwest. Most adjuncts are teaching 3-5 classes. That means they make about 6000-12500 a semester, so 12-25,000 a year if they can find that many classes to teach. That amount includes all the time they spend preparing their classes and grading. Or about a 60-80 hour work week if they have 3+ classes.
So where is the money going? Administration and facilities. Sounds a little like where the rest our economy is going. A big sucking sound toward the top, while the people that actual do things have seen their slice of the pie stay stagnant or diminish for the last 40 years.
Trump isn't going to fix that. Trump cares about Trump. And he isn't even really a viable candidate because he isn't actually setting up the apparatus that he would need to get elected. He is showboating / playing some sort of foil for likely his own egotistical purposes.
