Codex give su 400 dmg, thats as good as 1 skill.
HoN is just like all the other MOBA games,
LoL is the one, which is different -> AP / AD.
I mean DotA didn't have AP either, Nuker are earlygame good und lategame weaker...

my beloved Hekami (<3 1!! but Avalon Heroes sucks, fu alafailya) earlygame 2hitting enemys, lategame tank, slow, and dispell. (Support Ulti)

Lawl, I honestly tried to try HoN, but after 15 failed game starts when trying to duo queue with a friend, and 3 game crashes, I gave up.
