Do you understand how to do it?
It's really easy once you know how.
dy/dx x^3
Take the 3 to the left.
= 3x^_____
Now do the sum "3-1" because you've taken away one 3 from the power.
= 3x^(3-1)
= 3x^2
More examples:
dy/dx 4x^2
= 2*4x^(2-1)
= 8x
Why? Take the 2 from the right, move it to the left and times it by the 4. 2-1 = 1. ie 8x^1 = 8x.
dy/dx 2x^3
= 3*2x^(3-1)
= 6x^2
Why? Take 3 from the right, move it to the left and times it by the 2. 3-1 = 2.
