Your email id's must be EXACTLY THE SAME. For example;
On Mobafire, your e-mail reads: ToshabiIsMyHero@mailHost.com
If it reads as Toshabiismyhero@mailhost.com on Gravatar, then your avatar won't sync up with the site properly. So EVERYTHING (Caps included) must match on both sites, or else the avatar sync will flip a **** and not work.
This was the solution to my problem when I was having issues with gravatar once upon a time, maybe it's the solution to yours. :V
