Tablet gaming. Tried it. Really don't like it. Touchscreens are not meant for gaming. Period.
Handheld gaming. Tried it. Not my cup o' tea. Only game I ever like was Tetris. But that gets boring once you get stuck consistently on high levels.
* On a side note, had this friend, he was .....erm lets say he would never achieve anything in the academic world, he'd even be considered mentally challenged by some standards. This guy would start a Tetris game on the highest level and he'd still be playing long after you crashed and burned. Looking at him playing Tetris is fkin amazing.

Console gaming. Never tried Xbox. Never will. Have had the pleasure to extensively play on each PS to date. Consoles be fun, but ultimately limited.

PC gaming. /Drool. 'Nuff said.

Personally, should I get a new console, it'll be the PS4.
I prefer the improved graphics over all of the 'extra' features provided by the XBone.

And I was reffering to the touchscreen controller as well, since it's pretty much downright impossible to play sth like Super Mario, Super Mario Cart, etc. decently with not really responsive buttons that lie cloesly together in one plane surface.

Not to mention that if you use a smartphone (maybe with a tablet as well, I dunno since I don't own one) and sth like GNes Lite for example, you either block part of your view with your fingers or have only half the screen size in order to have a minuscule touchscreen gamepad.

But oh well, it seems like we both have to explain ourself in minute detail otherwise someone else might write some BS without knowing Jack ****.

yeah you can play games with emulators on your smartphone but then youre stuck with a touchscreen or a bluetooth controller, and if youre using the controller you might as well just play it on a computer instead

...
Doesn't the same apply to handhelds?..

If you have access to your PC, there's little reason to play on your phone or your handheld.
The thing with handheld gaming(phones included ofc) is that it is just that: handheld. Which means you can bring it where you don't have access to your PC. Which is the whole point of the devices...

and i dont know about you guys but touchscreens annoying me and is the main reason i dont play games on my ipod, id rather not have my fingers get in the way of the screen while im playing

Some games simply do not work well on touchscreens.
Most action games, platformers and FPS games work like **** on touch. Anything with on-screen controls really(analogue stick/steering cross and buttons on the screen).
But there are games that work perfectly fine on touch. TBS is a genre that works perfectly fine, to bring up an example.
Hearthstone kind of follows the same formula as TBS games btw (even if it is technically a CCG). Hearthstone is coming to mobile devices in 2014. I know I'm excited for it. I mean, just thinking about it, there should be nothing about a touch interface that hinders the game.

Actually, after your clarification in the comment below I know that you meant exactly what I thought you meant.
Don't worry, I'll lay your ignorant *** bare for all to see :)

You clearly did not read the rest of the thread or just didn't understand what you were reading.
I clearly pointed out that a bluetooth or USB controller can be used with any Android device. I have an Xbox360 controller I use with my tablet.
As such any problem with touch controls is eliminated instantly. It makes control as precise and tactile as gaming on any other handheld or even normal console, considering the fact that both Xbox360 and PS3 controllers work with Android.
So unless Mario games can't be played well on consoles then I call your argument ********. And considering the fact that Mario games are made for consoles I think we can all agree you're spouting ******** :)

the thing i said about "might as well play on a PC" was referring to using a bluetooth controller with a tablet, i dont know how you do it but for me it sounds like it would be awkward (unless youre carrying around a stand or something for your tablet with you)

also i havnt used an emulator for about a year so i dont know if there is a new one but if youre playing a game for the DS and you need to use online for things then im not sure if theres a possible way to connect online with an emulator (again i might be wrong since new emulators could have came out that can connect)

Well, almost every tablet case in existence has built-in stand functionality..
It serves as both protection for your device and as a stand.
So that's definitely not a problem.

Then there's also things like the MOGA controller that has a clasp to attach your phone to the controller with. It almost like the Nvidia Shield, only that you're using your phone instead of a separate device.

I haven't tried myself since there aren't all that many DS games I'm interested in. I've just seen others that have tried. I have no idea about the internet thing.

Hahaha, look at how Forza was nerfed from early displays.

Running on a PC with Titans.

Running on actual Xbox One hardware.

The crowd went from full 3D to all 2D sprites and the depth of field got nerfed to all hell. Not to mention texture detail and environment geometry..

Just checking after a while to see what was posted.

But too lazy to post anything big, since ignorance is a bliss and Searz carries it around in buckets.

So: Combine this

With this

Use (non)existing intelligence to add something that wasn't spoken out loud, like the fact that some ppl actually use their Smartphones in a way they were designed to be used: MOBILE (outside their room/on the move/at places were you normally wouldn't do sth like playing video games).

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddddddddddd....

You get a sad Searz running around in public using his tablet and bluetooth game controller flaming ppl with Smartphones that you can play stuff like Mario without probs.

Cheers.
