I'm not arguing, I'm defending my points. Regardless, I'm a "tool" so just ignore me.
When wasn't defending points and making counter points not arguing? All anyone is doing here it seems, is trying to prove the other person wrong. Or that one person's opinion is less valid.
But I'm just the peanut gallery never you mind me ^_^
But to join the discussion, here is my 2 cents.
The problem, in my opinion, is that both men and women are "victims" to gender discrimination and therefore both genders feel attacked, when discussing gender equality / gender discrimination. That makes it really hard to agree on, since both sides have experience to draw from where either the female or the male gender has been discriminated or treated not equally. That is making it more of a: "If men want that, females want this" and "If men do that, females will do this" and the other way around.
Example:
In Denmark equality between the genders are seen as a really important matter, however men is forced to draw a number when they are 18, which decides if they must join the military for a certain amount of time, while women do not have to. So men find that unfair, while females argue that men are stronger and therefore more suited.. But why not make women draw a number, but they support the country in another way, more suited to a female body and mind?
Furthermore a few political parties want to make a rule that states that there must be a certain % of leaders/managers/directors/whatever in a given company, who are females. This is completely ridiculous, since it forces companies to choose a woman over a man in some situations, even though the man might be more suited for the job. This is not equality either.
My point with this is that if men and women are equal, why don't they just actively DO something about it, instead of arguing and whining about how they feel inequally treated?
