5 Best Comps to Play in TFT Patch 13.19 (Updated with the Hotfix Patch)

Welcome to the Vanquisher Xayah and Nilah TFT era. Although there are a few comps that can stand against them in this Patch 13.19. Learn which comps we are referring to in this entry..

Teamfight Tactics Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound brought a lot of changes in both Patch 13.19 and the B patch to the meta comps.

To keep it short, Piltover and Gunners no longer dominate lobbies nor have the biggest chance to win games, there’s one new unit and trait taking the spot and that’s Vanquisher.

Summary of the changes. Source by Riot Games

Huge buffs to Xayah and the adjustments to the Vanquisher crit threshold have skyrocketed this comp into S tier. You can also opt to play a reroll variant Ashe 3* when you get an Ionia emblem, which is arguably as OP and way easier to accomplish.

Regarding nerfs, reroll comps with Samira, Cho’Gath and Rogue are receiving changes. You can find the rest of the details on Patch 13.19 and the B-patch in our rundown articles.

Without further ado, let’s look at the comps.

Vanquisher Everything

Vanquisher Xayah TFT comp

Vanquisher with Xayah and Nilah is the comp to beat in Patch 13.19

As mentioned before, Vanquisher is the top dog currently.

Recent buffs to Vanquisher and Xayah not only have made this comp the strongest but if you also add an Ionia Emblem into the mix, playing for 6 Ionia with Nilah at level 7 makes this comp an insta top 4 or even a win.

There are no drawbacks by going Vanquisher right now, however, you can find yourself being too contested so keep that in mind. In those cases, opting for the Ashe variant can help you out.

  • Xayah and Nilah are amazing carries. Xayah destroys the backline while Nilah melts through frontline
  • Great early game with Ashe + Jhin (Really stable)
  • Very flexible with Ionia Emblem, even without it you can play different variations and still have lots of success

To find out the best openers, what are the best items, augments or even when to go with Ashe reroll. You can check LeDuck’s guide which covers everything that was mentioned before with a few extra tips hard to optimize further your play.

Bruiser Reroll

Cho Reroll TFT comp

Cho'Gath comp is still OP and very flexible

Cho’Gath keeps terrorizing in Patch 13.19 despite being nerfed two times in the official patch and the hotfix.

What’s changed from the previous post is that Cassiopeia 3* is now the best-performing unit for your one-cost carry. Still, playing with Malzahar 3* is completely fine if you find him first, play what the game gives you.

  • Unkillable frontline and tons of burst with Cho and Bruisers
  • Really strong early and mid-game, great to secure health and secure top 4s
  • Easy to play reroll comp with one-cost units
  • Flexible as heck. Once you hit Cho 3* you can play multiple lines according to what you hit (Shurima Azir, Challenger Kai'Sa, Rek'Sai 3*, etc etc)

One tip to play this comp is to prioritize heavily on Cho’Gath items, having the best possible ones is fundamental for this comp to work.

To play this comp effectively, especially which units to prioritize, best augments, tips, and strategy for the different stages (Including the strategy to play around one-cost rerolls), you can check out this guide from LeDuck, which goes in-depth explaining each aspect.

Demacia Slayers

Demacia Slayers TFT comp

Fiora is really darn good in this Patch

Demacia Slayers is still among the best comps to play in Patch 13.19, you can argue that is even stronger with the buffs to Demacia’s trait.

As stated in the previous post, you can either play for Kayle Reroll or prioritize Fiora as your main carry.

There are many variants in how to play this comp, but usually playing around Quinn 3* plus a Fiora*2/Mordekaiser 2* as your main carries does wonders.

  • 7 Demacia is strong, especially if you have a Demacia emblem for hitting it earlier (Got buffed) is borderline BROKEN
  • Fiora is a 1v9 unit. She becomes untargetable, heals herself, and has true damage. Busted
  • Mordekaiser is a chad, even more with a Demacia Emblem
  • Now with two Slayers in Demacia (Kayle and Quinn), the trait fits perfectly with Demacia

REMINDER: Only have TWO Items in your Demacian units to get the Radiant Item.

One tip play this comp is choosing the Vladimir Legend and pick Transfusion at 2-1. You will play around Kayle in case you do this, the extra HP will make your units unkillable to buy you time for Kayle to finish the job.

To play this comp effectively, especially which units to prioritize (Quinn, Fiora, or Kayle), the best augments, tips, and strategy for different stages, you can check out this guide from LeDuck which goes in-depth explaining each aspect.

Rogues Reroll

Rogues Reroll TFT comp

No more Qiyana. Graves is now the king

Despite nerfs to the trait, Rogue reroll keeps being one of the strongest comps to play around Patch 13.19.

After nerfs to Qiyana, the current best iteration of Rogues is to focus on using Graves 3* with Gunners to increase his damage output. In this variant, you can also look for Jinx 3* and itemize her as a secondary carry along with all of your Rogue units.

  • Rogue two-stars are stable enough for you to slow-roll at level 6 4 Rogue now deals magic damage based on damage dealt. Hard to itemize against it
  • According to what you hit, you can pivot to different variations (Gunner, Zaun, Slayer, etc)
  • Counters various comps badly. For instance, Sorcerers or Multicasters

As usual in these types of comps, you want to save your gold and stabilize at 3-2 looking for all of your Rogue units and slow-roll.

Although this comp is indeed really strong, many details make it hard to play effectively. You can check out LeDuck's guide which explains how to approach different positions in the game to improve your consistency when playing this comp and the different variants.

Noxus Samira Reroll

 Noxus Samira Reroll TFT comp

Still playable but no longer OP

This comp got nerfed pretty bad in patch 13.19 and Samira in the B-patch. However, if you get early Samira’s and Cassiopeia’s is still a really strong comp to secure top 4s, not as good to win lobbies.

  • Samira and Cassiopeia carry hard early stages
  • Mordekaiser is one of the most powerful in the game that you can play around it
  • If you have a Noxus emblem the comp gets much better, you also can play different lines including Azir, Naafiri 3*. and more using the emblem
  • If you somehow end up with 9 Noxus, that's an easy Top 1 in most cases

What changed compared to the last patch is the need to play more around your Mordekaiser.

The nerfs to Samira won't allow her to blast through comps in the late game like she previously did.

You will need to play smart with your tempo and get a strong late-game board to have a chance of winning.

One strong win condition also is to play around 9 Noxus, is busted, or look for a Mordekaiser 3*.

There are a few comps that are starting to come out and look very strong such as Multicaster Twisted Fate so expect more changes to the list or an updated version in the upcoming patch.

To learn the ins and outs of this comp, check LeDuck's guide on how to play Noxus Samira Reroll.

If you like the esports side of Teamfight Tactics, make sure to tune in day 3 of the Noxus Cup this October 7th at 1 pm PDT. North American's best will face each other to qualify for Worlds, or achieve the Noxus TFT glory.
