League of Legends (LoL) Question: Do you people think it may be time for Tryndamere to be reworked?

Do you people think it may be time for Tryndamere to be reworked?

Now, I understand you must be thinking "eh, this guy got his arse kicked by Trynda so he wants a rework". Well, I have lost lanes to him in the past but he's not generally a champion I struggle with because I rarely play top lane. The reason I'm thinking about this and asking the question is because top laners are changing. Fiora got reworked a while back, Irelia, now Aatrox, they're becoming more complex. In this, I feel like Tryndamere is becoming the odd one out, with his relatively simple gameplay and easy cheese strategies. There are others that could be changed of course, but for some reason Tryndamere seems like the most obvious one.

I don't really think Aatrox needed such drastic changes, but if Riot's sticking to their guns and saying Aatrox's kit was unhealthy, I'd say Tryndamere is in the same boat. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get reworked somewhere down the road.

I agree, and In my opinion Trynda is arguably the simplest champion in the game, so you can look at it as a +chance for reworking or -chance. About Aatrox, even if he didn't need a complete rework, I am happy cause he got it, I really like it (even if you could say that he is riven 2.0)

Aatrox was unhealthy. I played him quite a bit before the rework, and the problem (which trynd doesn't have) is that he could kill the entire enemy team before they could get cc off. I wish I was joking, but a fed Aatrox could kill the enemy team in under 3 seconds, and if he started with their cc champs, they died before the knockup ended. Aatrox's problem wasn't just that he was hard to kill, it was that he was a one-man team, capable of starting baron, turning off baron to kill the enemy team, and then returning to kill baron without dipping below half health.

Once again, he could two-shot sqhishies and would have about 3 attack speed with Lethal Tempo. His knockup lasted .75 seconds, so he would literally kill the adc before the knockup ended, and the support half a second later.

Trynd doesn't have this play. While he can two hit a squishy, he generally won't break 2 attack speed (unlike Aatrox's 3). So, yes, he can kill the enemy ADC, and maybe the support, but you have time to run away and cc him since he also lacks the hard cc of Aatrox's kit. Trynd is obnoxious for the same reasons that an unfed aatrox was (hard to kill, hard to stop, solid damage), but he doesn't have anywhere near the snowballing power of Aatrox.

TLDR: You can run from Trynd; Aatrox didn't give you time for that.

I'd like to see Trynd stay as he is, as he's the only remaining melee ADC, in that he has a lot of sustained dps and can be a hypercarry.

Hell no. I don't see a reason for his rework? Pretty balanced champion. Ask us same question just replace Tryndamere with Malzahar.

I'm a little biased since I don't like playing vs the champion at all, but I do think parts of his kit are unhealthy and to me anyway he feels annoying to play as and play against so I personally think he should get reworked/changed.

Do you have a specific issue other than relatively simple gameplay and easy cheese strategies?

Is using the strengths of your kit - building up fury so that you are more likely to get critical strikes cheese?

I think he might be a little overtuned at the moment due to excessive access to true damage that he doesn't have built into his kit via Conqueror, Infinity Edge, Ignite so he doesn't have to itemize for armor penetration. He also benefits to some degree by having bruisers being more META than ADCS since Tryn can brawl with the best of them and he has to worry less about being kited from range.

He doesn't win every lane. He is melee so being kited is always a problem. His team fighting is meh unless he is fed and has Flash allowing him to one shot a carry.

So he usually annoyingly sits in a side lane and pushes, because he is good at dueling, taking towers, or just fading away with his spin.

Overall I think he is still good at what he does. And while relatively simple to play there are quite few nuances to his kit such that he does offer a fairly high level of skill expression.

To me his main downsides are

    1. Because of RNG you never know exactly how a trade with him will go
    2. It feels really frustrating to play against one that gets ahead
    3. If you don't close out the game relatively quickly he will get annoying

But 2 & 3 are true of most carry champions.
