League of Legends (LoL) Question: Best Summoner Spells for Supports this Season?

Best Summoner Spells for Supports this Season?

So I've been playing a lot more support lately. I played it quite a bit last season and always went with Flash and Exhaust, as per the usual last season. I know the meta is shifting more towards supports being more of a damage dealer, and thus a lot of supports take Ignite. I still take Exhaust. I feel like the extra bit of CC helps out in a lot of situations, especially in lane trades and really reduces the amount of damage the enemy lane can do to us. I can see ignite being a good choice, but it seems like a selfish spell for supports who want to pick up kills for themselves.

So, what are the best summoner spells for supports this season?

You take Exhaust on supports you want to peel with and when the enemies have many gapclosers and assassins that are a threat to your ADC.

If you are playing aggressively/aggressive supports you take Ignite (Unless there are threats for your ADC)

Another thing to note is that Ignite allows for an extra burst of damage. If your ADC is losing a trade and is in serious risk of dying, an ignite can act as a sort of peel, because the big damage is puts out early game can force a kill on your opposing carry.

It stays strong well into the laning phase & mid game, since the healing reduction can badly mess up an ADCs sustain in a trade, because of the healing reduction

Always Flash and Exhaust or Ignite

4.5. Patch changed preferences. ADC now pick Flash + Heal. And if I understand correctly ignite does not cut hp from Heal. Exhaust now cut only 30 % of AA speed but 50% DMG.
In the end supports take Exhaust against assassins and burst casters from ADC for example Corki . And Ignite for that extra DMG + now it gives vision on ignited enemy so you can combo it with Ace in the Hole

I main Annie when I support, and Exhaust + Flash works so damn good.

In my opinion Exhaust is THE best summoner you can pick as a supporter - 50% less Attack Speed means 50% less damage if casted on an ADC, also 30% overall damage reduction are awesome vs any champion (except Olaf with Ragnarok ). Ignite deals 410 damage, while Exhaust lowers the enemys damage for much more. Example : Ashe with 300 AD , a 50% crit chance and 1.5 AS; her normal DMG in 2.5 sec would be 3.75 attacks, with each 300 or (if crit) 750 DMG which makes an average of 525 DMG/hit, making a total of 1968 DMG. Exhausted there would be only 689 total DMG left, means we reduced the damge for an amount of 1279 - or 3 Ignites.

You basically pick the summoner spells for your lane. After you've won it, you can carry.

Typically Exhaust is your summoner of choice but i like taking Ignite for more aggressive supports, or when i intend on building damage.

Thresh i will take Ignite on since i want to brawl with an enemy anyway. i don't ignite to take kills but just to do more damage so my adc gets it. sometimes however if i have the opportunity i will go for it.

Even on Annie Lux Morgana etc i may take Ignite if i intend on building damage and therefore want to fend for myself and be a threat to people but you may be better off with Exhaust

I know that my personal preference in aggression so i take Ignite a lot. I also go for kills if i see them and my adc won't get it. I won't let someone recall next to their turret one hit from death just because my adc isn't close enough to get the kill or it's questionable whether he/she can get close enough in time

    Flash + ______

    + Ignite if you're using a kill-lane support
+ Exhaust if you're playing against hypercarries
+ Teleport if you're looking to take top lane / lane swapping is a likely tactic for your team (specific to support champions who can put out DPS)

No TP please. It's horrible on supports.

You don't use ignite to get the kill but to cut healing down and get more damage in so your carry kills them. Essentially you start a burst with it rather than finish with it. Either spell works though, just depends on matchup and preference imo. I haven't switched over yet either.
