Pick order or call order?
Every group of people I see in draft/ranked has a different theory on this, but I wanna know what you all think? Should roles be called or should everyone just go by the pick order?
Logic says that people should call the roles they are best at, especially if they are a later pick, less chance to be countered, but a lot of people think there is some mythical rule in the summoner's code that says "first pick gets what it wants, always"
Is that rule even real? And isn't it better to let the solo lanes be picked last?

It's COURTESY to give people what they want.
If you don't, people play worse.
Giving people what they want is better because when they say they're better with something, they probably are.
It should be about "Can you jungle?" or "Can you support?" not "Will you jungle?" or "Will you support?". If this game is going to get anywhere in making it's teams better, why not provide a function where if you own a character or have used a free character over once in that day in a specific tier, you will be available for that position.
For example, if you own Janna or have played as her over once in a single day when she is a free character, you shall have a 'S' over your summoner name and icon.

Sure, feel free to call out jungle, i'll pick my jungler regardless if you're 5th pick and i'm first. Unless i feel like playing something else that is.
Also to quote the summoners code: "If you’re the last one to pick, try to fill a niche in your team that hasn’t already been filled."
>Last pick, fill niche.
>Pick order.
The 'calling = spot' theory is silly because it basically says: 'because I have faster internet or faster typing skills, I get to go where I want'.
The 'pick order = spot' is also silly because it doesn't factor in individual preferences/skills. Not to mention that 'I'm first pick, so I get to pick what I want and last pick can shut up' is a stupid point of view to take, seeing that last pick can trollpick (and it's not against the rules to do so, either).
So it's a matter of communication and luck depending on matchmaking. Work with what you have, see who can go where. If it doesn't work, dodge (or play if it's just a normal and you don't care about losing).
Giving someone what they want is a courtesy, but in no way are you forced to do it.
Also, the logic for this is, if you're higher elo, you're better, so you will have a better chance of winning that lane.
Which is why I say "prefer x roles," because it tells my team where I'm best at.
The other option that I've heard people do is dodge if you don't get the role you want. Seems to work for some people.
usually I just dodge when 3 people instalock brand, leblanc and ahri tho.
But then, pick orders > call orders. There really isn't anything you can do when someone else decides to take a role you asked for before your pick.
