Standard Runes Set Up for every role?

What are the Standard runes setup for every role in the game? I only keep finding the AP and AD runes set up but do Top Lane, Support and Jungle have ideal standard set up runes that would fit best for the role? If so please let me know! Hope this all makes sense. Please and thank you :)

Normally you should set your rune pages such that you cover certain laning scenarios. For example AD assassin champ into an AP champ or a Tanky champ or another AD champ. There are certain runes you would prioritise accordingly.

I usually have rune pages such as "AD v AP lane" or "AP v AP lane". In some instances, you get games where the enemy team is 80% (4/5) AP or AD team, then you can get rid of some Ar or MR stats depending on that.

If you want a generic one for each.
Always 9 x Ar seals and 9 x MR glyphs. Marks and quints are where you can mix and match.
    • AP - 9 x MPen marks, 3 x AP quints.
    • AS - 9 x AS marks, 3 x AD or AS quints (depending on your on-hits etc...)
    • AD - 9 x AD marks, 2 x ArPen + 1 x AD quints (or 3 x life steal for ADC)
    • more marks of lethality if against a tanky laner, usually top.

The possibilities are endless, and it is always good to have a few extra MR against AP lanes or maybe a few extra AP runes against AP lanes with lower damage than you. Also remember that you can run full magic or physical damage runes in a game but this means you will need to play safe and also spend some gold on one or two defensive items. You can do this with assassins because you need high damage output at the start while as the game goes on it's usualy-> Go in->kill and get out or kill and die. Something along those lines.

In 2017 the Riot Caster Phreak did an analysis of successful rune pages for Season 7 (he does one every season). However, his analysis was flawed, IMO, due to the limitations of the Lolalytics data. I mention this because I believe his Season 6 pages and explanation are still the best general purpose rune and rune pages explanation.

Before I link to a summary, it needs to be mentioned that runes are going away next season and that any IP spent on them now since they became 10 IP each will not be refunded by Riot (however at just 10 IP each, max 300 IP for a full page worth - its not a big deal). What may be a big deal is that rune *pages* are not going away and won't be refunded either. Under the new system next season I find it extremely doubtful you will want/need more than a dozen of them, and likely four or six pages will be plenty.

The most important thing you should know about runes in general is: Solo lanes (ie Mid, Top) should normally use scaling seals and glyph runes. Duo lanes and the jungle should use flat (non scaling) seals and glyph runes. Generally, you want non scaling Quints and Marks.

Here's the link to a Reddit post summarizing Phreak's season 6 pages: here. Phreak's video (link on the reddit page) is very long but it explains *why* certain runes are good on certain types of champions.

If you are looking at runes for a specific champion, if the champion is popular now, go look at ProBuilds.net to see what the pros use. Just make sure to use runes by a pro that is "in role" for that champion. An out of role pro (ie ADC pro playing top) is likely using more generic pages because of the rune page limit of 20.

If you want runes for a less popular champion go over to op.gg and look up what runes the best one trick ponies are running for that champion.

One last good source of pages by played role, ie Support, Top, is to go look the list of players who are in challenger. Then use the client to look at their profile's rune pages to see what they are using.

Edited: Typed too fast, you always want flat Marks like PsiGuard mentions.

True, true - Marks should be flat like Quints. I'll edit above.

Correction: Scaling marks are awful since the primary stats for those runes have awful scaling counterparts. Marks are usually attack speed, attack damage or magic penetration. Occasionally lethality or armor on certain champions.
