Brice’s Teemo Guide
Hi, I’m Brice, a Teemo OTP on EUW at Master+ rank.
I’ve spent thousands of games mastering the sneaky Scout, and I’m here to give you some tips and build to master and think about playing teemo differently.
If you want tips, tricks, and fun, you’re in the right place.

why should you play teemo
So, why should you pick Teemo? Well, if you like annoying your enemies to death, controlling the map like a sneaky ninja, and generally being that tiny terror everyone loves to hate, Teemo is your guy.
Here’s why Teemo is the perfect little devil for you:
- Solo King – Great in 1v1s thanks to his blinding darts and poison. Your lane opponent will never know what hit ‘em.
- Mushroom Madness – Place your Noxious Traps all over the map and watch enemies explode, slow down, or rage quit.
- Stealth Mode Activated – Hide in bushes and become basically invisible. Surprise attacks? Check.
- Low Elo Carry? High Elo Challenge? – Teemo is equally terrifying for newbies and veterans.
- Most Hated Champion in the Game – If you want to make enemies salty, you’re set.
teemo's abilities
|
Move Quick (W) Passively gains movement speed when not damaged. Activate for a burst of speed. Pro Tip: Use this to dodge skillshots, chase kills, or run away like the tiny scamp you are. |
|
Toxic Shot (E) Imbues Teemo's basic attacks with poison, dealing damage over time. Pro Tip: Keep poking and prodding your lane opponent with auto attacks — poison adds up quickly! |
|
Noxious Trap (R) Plants explosive mushrooms that slow and poison enemies who step on them. Pro Tips: |
- Plant around objectives like Baron and Dragon to control the map.
- Scatter them in bushes and jungle paths to set deadly traps.
- Use them as wards — they last a long time and keep enemies guessing.
- Drop them on your escape routes to slow down pursuers.
team synergy
🤝 Team Synergy
Teemo works especially well with:
TANKS BRUISERS ENGAGERS
"Let them soak up the damage while you poke and annoy from afar!"
"Let them soak up the damage while you poke and annoy from afar!"
Teemo struggles more with:
MAGES ADCs ASSASSINS
"Their poke and burst can make your life miserable!"
"Their poke and burst can make your life miserable!"
early game
🔥 Early Game – How to Dominate Your Opponent 🔥
1. Versus Ranged Champions
Goal: Be cheesy and deal as much damage as possible early.
Force them to burn summoner spells and potions.
To surprise:
• Hide in the second bush.
• Stand in front of their tower (outside of its vision).
2. Versus Melee Champions
Sit in the third bush and bully them hard.
Check the matchups (above) to know if you can fight level 1.
💡 Teemo Tech – XP Denial
If you have an early advantage and an easy matchup:
→ Stay invisible in front of the enemy tower.
→ Minions will walk through you.
→ Poke the enemy while denying XP.
3. Teemo’s Main Goal
Zone the enemy to deny XP and gold.
Getting kills is great, but your priority is creating a lead.
Remember: Teemo is a lane bully and becomes weaker/useless mid/late if you let your opponent get ahead (less relevant in lower elos).
4. When You Have Lane Advantage
Force them under tower or kill them.
Place your R Shrooms:
• In the river.
• On the top-side objective.
• In the enemy jungle.
If you have trouble moving, shroom your lane and be ready to rotate if your jungler takes a fight.
5. Against Hard Matchups
Don’t hesitate to buy
Plated Steelcaps or
Mercury’s Treads. This helps a lot against champions like Kennen or Riven.
mid/late game
🔥 Mid / Late Game – How to Play 🔥
1. When You’re Ahead
Push your lane, roam, and force fights/trades.
Focus on flanking rather than being frontline – as a low-range mage, it’s better to kill the backline than to fight face-to-face.
Place R Shrooms on objectives:
• Shrooms last 5 minutes, so start setting them up around 4:30.
• Spam shrooms in the jungle to force enemies to sweep, leaving them with nothing to deward near objectives.
Your main focus should be on killing the enemy carries (ADC / Mid).
If you can’t play aggressively (because you’re behind or the fights are too hard), just shroom mid and split push only if you’re far enough ahead to win any 1v1, forcing them to send two people to deal with you.
2. When You’re Behind
Stick with your team as much as possible.
Protect towers to prevent the enemy from splitting and flanking.
Consider buying
Zhonya’s Hourglass against dive champions (like Riven) to make it harder for them to kill you.

conclusion
Conclusion
Teemo may be small, but he’s mighty. He’s a champion for players who love mind games, map control, and causing endless frustration to their enemies.
If you enjoy a playstyle that’s part scout, part sniper, and part annoying pest, if you want a character that's cute and godlike you’re in the right place.
Good luck, have fun, and remember: always be shrooming!
