What to buy first when....

Hi,

Thing is, I'd like to know your opinion on when building .

So I almost always buy first.
Then after that is where the awkward situation for me appears.

In your opinion, is it better to buy first?
or better to go ?

I always go for for consistent damage output.

Best would be to instabuy Infinity Edge :P
But of course, that is not always possible :D

Let's look at the stats for a second:
* BF sword grants 45 AD for 1550g
* Pickaxe grants 25 AD for 875g
* Cloak of agility grants 15% CSC for 730g

For the first comparison, let's only look at the AD items:
BF sword costs 1550g for 45 AD, that means each AD costs: 34,44g
Pickaxe costs 875g for 25 AD, that means each AD costs: 35g
This means that BF sword is slightly more worth your costs than pickaxe, making BF sword the better buy between these two.

Now let's look at cloak of agility vs BF sword.
Cloak of Agility grants a 15% chance to deal 200%, while BF sword only grants 45AD.
The 15% damage that deals 200% damage, will mean that a normal auto attack will deal 115% damage on average. Since these items do not share the same price, we will more the amount of AD from BF sword, to the AD it would have if it costs as much as CoA: 730/34,44= 21,2 AD

So in order to make CoA more worth than BF sword, one must have a minimum AD of:
15% = 21,2 AD
100% = 141 AD

Conclusion
If you have over 141 AD, than CoA is worth rushing
If it is less than 141 AD, then you should rush BF sword

Just because I am incredibly awesome and impressively smart, doesn't mean I am a better player :D

That is a much better way than mine :P i probably should leave the advice to the better players.

Some things that also should be mentioned though:
* Pickaxe is still a cheaper item, so if you simply cannot afford BF sword, you might be better of buying that insead
* CoA is still chance based, meaning that you can be very lucky and get lots of crit, or being very unlucky and have no crits at all :D

NEVER go cloak of agility.

Even if you don't get BF sword first (not enough gold), pickaxe is better as well.

Just buy the flat AD components and always cloak last.

This is because flat ad helps your laning a lot more. crit doesn't.

Oh er if you're talking about late game or mid game IE you can do crit cloak before pickaxe if you dont have the gold

depends on your champ and rune preference. but usually get the flat ad runes as they said but as i had said it differs for example when i play trynda with crit dmg quint i usually get the CoA first to get higher crit chances. but still in general flat ad, no matter how small it maybe, is still better than a chance item most of the time.

On ADC's?
If so build a zeal after bf sword if you don't have PD or SS and then the cloak if not get pickaxe if you need damage or cloak if you need crits it's situational.
