With DFG gone, are any AP items rising in popularity?

Title, and the items specifically tagged.

Also which mages/assassin are using these now?

I don't think the items you've tagged are appropriate for most champions that used DFG. Most of those champs are burst mages who have little use for spellvamp or rylai's slow and rarely have spammable spells to warrant Lich Bane or the sticking power of Twin Shadows, which was pretty much never built in the first place.

That said, I'm sure Fizz and Ahri players will be looking at Lich Bane. Ahri could see some more play with Rylai's, but she does so much free damage right now with so much safety that I anticipate a higher emphasis on full AP builds (no Rylai's) until she's adequately nerfed.

Still waiting for word of the new 120 AP item coming in 5.3 though.

Read the context for the DFG change, they mention they're working on a replacement item for the 120 AP slot.

The changes have been subtle mostly because Ahri's nerfs actually sort of broke her as a champion. Other DFG users like Syndra or LeBlanc just finish her first item and go for Rabadon's Deathcap and still get the wreck train going, albeit demanding more skill.

People just sort of made do with the lack of DFG, some realized Rylai's still gives 100 AP, but overall the biggest change was Fizz rotating out of midlane popularity.

    tl;dr: not much is new

Well they didnt particularly nerf Fizz, they just spread his power evenly among his abilities, people probably just play him the same way as before the DFG remove. (I guess you could call that the BDFGR era heheh)
