Stats
  • Base health regen. per 5 seconds reduced to 3.374 from 8.374.
Iron Man
  • Shield generation is now based on a percentage of his maximum health, from 35% from the damage dealt by his abilities. Maximum shield strength unchanged.
  • Shield generation against minions is reduced to 30% effectiveness.
  • Shield generation values vary between abilities, and is displayed on each of the abilities' tooltips.
  • Shield now decays if Mordekaiser has been out of combat for 5 seconds, instead of persistently decaying. Decay ratio unchanged.
Mace of Spades
  • NEW EFFECT: Now grants 75 bonus attack range on the empowered attack.
  • Bonus AD ratio increased to 160% Bonus AD from 100% Bonus AD.
  • Bonus AD ratio no longer increased against isolated targets.
  • Damage reduced to 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+ 30% AP) from 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+ 40% AP).
  • Total damage to isolated targets reduced to 132 / 173.25 / 214.5 / 255.75 / 297 (+ 160% Bonus AD) (+ 50% AP) from 132 / 181.5 / 231 / 280.5 / 330 (+ 165% Bonus AD) (+ 66% AP).
  • Cooldown reduced to 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 from 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4.
  • Health cost reduced to 12 / 16 / 20 / 24 / 28 from 25 / 32 / 39 / 46 / 53.
Creeping Death
  • Total ability power ratio reduced to 90% AP from 120% AP.
  • Health cost reduced to 18 / 22 / 26 / 30 / 34 from 26 / 32 / 38 / 44 / 50.
  • NEW EFFECT: If cast on an ally, Mordekaiser will also gain Creeping Death's effects, and each gain 60 flat movement speed bonus when moving towards each other.
Siphon of Destruction
  • Ability power ratio reduced to 50% AP from 60% AP.
  • Health cost reduced to 20 / 24 / 28 / 32 / 36 from 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 72.
Children of the Grave
  • Mordekaiser now gains from the target 30% AP and 25% Bonus health, from 20% ability power and attack damage.
  • Slaved ghost now only gains 25 / 50 / 100 Bonus AD and 15% of Mordekaiser's max. health.

His numbers are looking so good right now. A 5 man E gives the same amount of health as half of a level 1 Maximum Dosage. Children of the Grave will also give as much health as a level 3 Maximum Dosage albeit over a longer period of time.

I'd see Liandry's Torment being pretty good on him, as well as other CDR items.
I'm disappointed riot didn't solve morde's mobility issue though. He can't initiate team fights, which imo will make him a niche pick, as he will have to rely on a support or jungler initiating fights

But then, he has a nice follow up with the increased movement speed towards the initator and if he can get the ghost, which isn't that hard in all those "kill one guy" comps, his team can start snowballing heavily onto that.

Landing a 5 man E is literally impossible.
In fact landing a 2 man E is uncommon and it only is more unlikely from there.
The ghost seems to have been nerfed, as it only has a fixed amount of attack damage and you don't gain any stats from it.
So you ever ust the assassin or the tanks.

Basically MOBAFire.

Some math for the shield generation: We say we have the following build:

Mordekaiser base stats: 1915 HP

Sorcerer's Shoes, Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Thornmail, Warmog's Armor, Spirit Visage

Masteries: 9/21/0 (important are Mental Force , Arcane Mastery , Veteran Scars , Juggernaut )

Runes: Greater Mark of Magic Penetration, Greater Seal of Scaling Health, Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction, Greater Quintessence of Health

Amount of AP: 172
Amount of HP: 4269
Amount of MPen: 38

Scenario 1: Q, their MR value is 100 (means 62).

Old Morde Shield: 58 per target hit
New Morde Shield: 170 per target hit

Scenario 2: W

Old Morde Shield: 25 per second per target hit
New Morde Shield: 43 per second per target hit

Scenario 3: E

Old Morde Shield: 76 per target hit
New Morde Shield: 170 per target hit

As you can see, if you build Morde tanky now, his shield generation is more than doubled, making him a near unpierceable wall.

Yeah true, but at least now Mord is actually rewarded for building Rylai's Crystal Scepter because it empowers his shield.

I really like the idea behind this "mini-rework", make him a tanky dude, with low cd aoe that seems really hard to kill

Well, would Mordekaiser be Mordekaiser if he has no mobility issues?

Also, Mordekaiser makes it nearly unable to engage on your team if you are as strong as you should be, as the enemy has to fear to get near to him. You could, instead of going into the enemy backline, destroy the enemy frontline with Liandry's and high MR-Penetration. Then get yourself the enemy frontline as ghost and with the 25% increased HP you are totally unkillable. Also, it doesn't matter if the target builds AD or not, it will have over 200 AD.
