This gp is far more useful than the last one. You see his ult is now more consistent with when and where there is damage, his passive is much stronger and scales with his ad, his heal now heals for % of missing health also, his barrels provide for much more damage and utility than his past e, and his q now provides reason to actually last hit with it. All in all he is much better. I also heard of him being an ok jungler, but have yet to try it. Guessing you would start barrels for the armor pen and the fact that you can have several uses.

His E is actually great if you know how to use it. The problem being it's really hard to use. The single good gp I saw in a game did some cool stuff with those barrels though. I guess it's a matter of time (until a korean pro player picks him and makes a staple move that everyone copies).
E is reliable if youre using it right, if youre throwing it on top of your enemy then of course its going to seem useless because they can break it
now if you throw one next to you and chain one onto the enemy and Q the one thats charged next to you for instant damage then it becomes reliable, it just takes practice and a lot of micromanaging to use his E correctly

I wish they had more champs that can crit for 1.5K this early into the game while also starting the game with a Mercurial Scimitar :^)

Gangplank is too unreliable. The only "viable" build on him involves Critical %, which never exceeds 55%, therefore, playing him is a real gamble because one day you might get that 1,5k crit when you need it, but on the next day, you might not. Though I agree he is way more useful now.
