Gragas is apparently getting some changes in patch 6.17 and the changes are the follwing.
Bodyslam (E):
Cooldown increased to 16/15/14/13/12 from 12 at all ranks
Explosive Cask (R):
Now has a fixed travel time, meaning it will always take 0.55 seconds to arrive at its target, even if Gragas is next to it.
It seems to be sort of a nerf IMO. What do you think about these changes and how impactful would it be for Gragas.
Also, I would add Rek'sai as well cause you made a guide for her and she is getting changes in the same patch.
Tunnel (Burrowed E):
Cooldown increased to 26/24/22/20/18 from 20/19.5/19/18.5/18
Void Rush (R):
Cooldown increased to 180/140/100 from 150/110/70
What do you think on her changes? I would love your feedback :)
That certainly hurts
Both of these changes will probably be big enough to see some people prefer other strong junglers like
I've picked
Really good guide by the way. :-)
Editorial note - you have fragment in several places in the guide where I think you mean ferment.
Runes and Masteries Questions:
I've noticed on Probuilds that people are opting for Veteran's Scars over Runic Armor and Natural Talent over Vampirism. I tend to go your route for masteries as otherwise I feel like I don't have enough health left over to gank after getting both buffs without the sustain from the aforementioned masteries.
I also noticed that people were taking health/lvl seals instead of armor seals. Maybe with those runes and masteries they are being more late game focused? Which seems odd to me since Gragas seems to get the most done in the early/mid game.
Another thought perhaps I'm using
Starting Item
You show a start with Hunter's Talisman in the cheat sheet but talk about starting with Hunter's Machete in the body of your guide.
My take on that is if I happen to be starting blue side so i'll have blue buff to clear with then start Hunter's Machete, but if I'm starting Red Side and won't quickly have my Blue Buff then to start with Hunter's Talisman. What is your stance on this?
Thoughts/examples on Explosive Cask placement? That thing is quite often make or break and I still seem to have more games where I break with it than I would like. I've found that you really have to watch out for using it on champions with dashes like
Does the champion and heading and/or facing matter? It certainly seems to me like it does given some weird interactions I've seen with people getting blown in directions that I wouldn't expect. And often it seems to have odd interactions with terrain. A game or two ago I had a
Any thoughts/help on these matters would be appreciated. Thx!
I will update the rune/mastery setup + guide errors. I take runic armor, natural talent + hp/level seals. I use abilities between camps to get most use of
I think Talisman is always superior to machete on Gragas ever since the changes. Also take refillable potion over 3 potions if you're familiar with
I usually always look for E + Flash + ult combo in team fights. I don't want to leave it to a chance that someone dodges or flashes the ultimate so I try to just get 100% confirmed good ultimate with E + flash combo. The enemy facing doesn't matter but ultimating near a terrain does sometimes have weird interaction.
What I think is happening however is you're throwing the ultimates too near the champion which often leads to a unexpected angle (if you're trying to ultimate someone backwards and the ultimates is just a little bit off to the left side, you can expect the enemy to fly diogonally). Some champions have strange hitboxes so the placement varies too.
If u throw the barrel tiny bit further from the champion, you can avoid strange angles because of diferent hitboxes because the angle is more clear that way.
Just be careful not to throw it too far. I can review more in-depth if you like by uploading a gameplay video somewhere so I can look on what you could look to improve. Thanks for the comment btw.

Thank you for answering my questions Joxuu!
Appreciate the emphasis on the guaranteed ult for team fights, so I will try to value/prioritize having
And I have noticed that if you ult to closely things can get strange. If you hit them with the epicenter they actually don't go anywhere. Though getting that to even happen consistently due I believe as you say, weird champion hit boxes, can be hard to pull off.
I'll see about finding some gameplay vids that showcase a typical game.
:) thanks for the guide!
