Pretty sure you don't want to leave the zone, as straying too far from your spirit instantly makes you a vessel.
Can't that be cleansed? Plus it's just a 2-second hard slow that annoys you once every 10 seconds (as I said, enough time to go back to base). The zoning would be harder than the damage to the spirit though.

Yeah, well, drawbacks :P it probably won't work, but it has the potential of being an insta-kill on a medium-to-low cooldown. The fact that it is so feast or famine is what would make it broken if ever 700 AD illaoi was a thing.

That said, IDK how resistances work on this thing. If you get to reduce the damage after it's been applied to the spirit it would be impossible to kill someone via damaging it. If the spirit applies the resistances and then it just transfers "true damage" it would be more thematically correct but it would risk being broken.

the spirit has the same armor and MR as the actual champion, think of it like damage reduction

the spirit has 75% damage reduction at rank one of the ability

also an ability that forces you to recall is already too strong, this feels like a pre-work nidalee spear that requires teamwork because it either kills you or forces you to go back, or you hope the enemy team is bad enough to not do anything about it

even though i think it's impossible to get to 700 AD without steroids in your kit (and even still) can you go above the 100% damage thing?

But it doesn't. Recalling is just one of the options to avoid the vessel drawbacks. You can stay and dodge the tentacles as you would with any other skillshot if you stayed to trade poke/teamfight. Sure, it's a debuff, but that's the whole point of the ability. Plus, you probably can't die from the shadow and will just get some damage done to you if you let them kill it.

50% reduced damage for as long as youre in the zone (which is pretty large) on a target that cant dodge means youre going to get a lot of damage dealt to you before you get out of the zone

the thing is youre going to be low when youre hit by this ability forcing you to recall unless the enemy team doesnt take advantage of it

I wonder if the damage that's dealt to your spirit counts as "damage" though. Like, will it stop your recall? Will it proc all other "on damage" effects? We may never know.

i have a PBE account and im not doing anything tomorrow if anyone wants to get on and test these things

i assume you mean things like on hits and slows/stuns (tarics dazzle for example) right lugi?

Not exactly. What I want to know is if, while the spirit is ripped from you, dealing damage to the spirit will stop your recall or cause warmog's/Mobo's passive to reset. Same with other "out of combat" skills. Because it might be flagged as something like health removal and not damage. I don't know, I'm not a designer.
