I'm intrigued. Is he a situational pick where the opponent picks a tanky support? Or, is he good against most supports? It seems like he'd be vulnerable to ranged poke and harass.

Right now, his ultimate seems only a bonus compared to what his E can offer. His laning phase is by no means weak but you're right in that he is a bit vulnerable to poke; although your E again is a wonderful mechanic to turn right back onto the champion poking you.

Vyn, I feel like I, and other people are still going to be confused as to WHY support trundle works (And apparently so well). Perhaps you could write up a small guide, or maybe make a video about it?

Because his E is a long-ranged skillshot alistar W-Q combo on a lower cooldown, for guides check the #1 Trundle support guide which I scouted

I'm starting to main the champ, any tips like runes, masteries, be agresive in certain lanes, not agressive in others. Power spikes, I started using the lehends runes (as quints, ad marks) are they really worthy against standar supports runes?

Thanks to jhoijhoi for the sig!

If you need advice like this for a specific support stuff I'd recommend just reading a guide, because you're essentially asking me to write a guide here. Only if there are things that you cannot find in guides I can answer here.

With regards to that specific rune page, I think it could be good in matchups where you can AA a lot (vs. low ranged supports) but it does leave you awfully squishy

Hi Vynertje,

After playing extensively on Brand as a Support and a Mid Laner, I am beginning to like more the strength of Brand in a Support Role.

I am someone with many questions, so pardon me for asking (>_<)

Q1: What is your opinion on Brand in a Support role?
Q2: In your view, what is the greatest difference between a mid laning Brand, and a Supportive Brand?
Q3: And compared against Nami, a Support that I find has interesting offensive capabilities on top of supportive utilities, when would you choose Nami, and when would you take Brand as a Support?

===================================================================================
Btw, I do have a dilemma on Sightstone for a Champion like Brand in SoloQ settings.

Being a Support, I usually buy Sightstone when I notice my team MVP is beginning to roam. BUT when the game is not going well for my team, I do have a tendency to go for more offensive/defensive items first, foregoing Sightstone until later - I will ask my team to assist in warding the map together as a team meanwhile and avoid Jungle skirmishes for the time being - so I can help in killing the enemy: the scary part is this seems to have surprising reversal effect in many games that I had.

Q4: Is it a good idea to get Sightstone later? What are the tradeoff?

For many supports, Ruby Sightstone is a de facto upgrade. However, it seems to be different for Brand, I find that Sightstone is already efficient enough for warding, and many times, I find Rylai's or Liandry's more beneficial for my team if I get them earlier, and should the game get into the late end game stages, I find defensive items such as Banshee's or Zhonya's are more deserving of my item slot for team fights as Brand than Ruby Sightstone - as compared to other more utility base Supports.

From your experience,
Q5: when is a good time a good time for Sightstone to be upgraded into Ruby Sightstone?
Q6: And when are the times Sightstone can be/should be replaced for other items as a
(1) Support in general
(2) Supportive Brand

Regards,
Redash

1: He's decent but not great after the Deathfire Touch nerfs.
2: The amount of gold you get and consequently how you're supposed to be building. Brand support still builds damage items, but focuses more on utility rather than bursting ppl down ( Frost Queen's Claim, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment etc.)
3: Both have a quite similar role and playstyle in lane, but Brand has more damage scaling late game and Nami has a bit more utility late game. I'd say Brand is a bit more of a risky pick though because he doesn't have the sustain and defensive capabilities Nami has.
4. No, you don't want to get it any later than after upgrading your support item to tier-3. Vision is key to victory, so you really don't want to skimp out on that.
5. Only when you're full build (including pink wards) OR when you think you need that extra ward stack to keep up vision. Generally, you should always finish your core build first and after that point you can start considering upgrading it.
6. Never.

1. Thoughts on Naut support? Used to play him a lot and picked him up recently in an attempt to climb.
2. Is Braum worth picking over other supports? Feels like his only major strength is his shield.
3. What are some good supports for dealing with Tahm? Tend to ban him, but you know, some people don't ban him.
4. Between Alistar and Trundle, when should who be picked?

Thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the sig!

1. He's good, but one dimensional in his playstyle. If your team falls behind, he has very little left to offer because his toolkit is purely offensive like Leona's.
2. Yes, he's not a tier-1 support by any means but his late game utility is amongst the best.
3. There is very little that can shut tahm down in lane, the lane simply becomes a stalemate. You can pick champions like Nami/Lulu/Janna to just poke the ADC down or champions like Thresh to roam away from the kench lane.
4. Alistar has a bit more potential in lane because he offers hard lockdown whereas Trundle relies a lot more on catching people with a well placed pillar. Besides that, Trundle offers more utility and disruption in teamfights/skirmishes whereas Alistar is better at tanking and engaging.
