MERMAID'S SEASON 6 RANKED JOURNEY

Hello and welcome to my Ranked Thread! I decided I wanted to make one of these for the new season 6, just to show off how amazing *cough* I really am *cough* at carrying *cough* games.

So, enough about me and how amazing I am, let's get to what I want to accomplish and what I play. I'm really wanting to achieve diamond this season and will stop at nothing to get it (hello Elo Boost :^)) and quite honestly I feel like I've made a lot of progression in the last year.

CHAMP POOL

Name's in red are champions I can play but don't feel comfortable with, so they will usually be a last resort.

Name's in green are the champions you'll be seeing the most.

See you around!

GAME 1

VICTORY

Summary of the game:
I love the new champion select! We had so much communication and we drafted really well, counter picking based on what the enemy team chosen and trying to build a team comp that really complimented the current meta. We managed to get so many early teamfights and map control that the enemy just couldn't do anything.

What I did well:
  • I created so much pressure bot lane, and I made the enemy bot lane use their summoner spells defensively all the time to reduce the risk of us getting all in'd. Because I zoned so hard, I managed to get Caitlyn a respectable CS/gold lead.
  • I started roaming and invading along with Riven and Annie, we took towers, rift herald and forced the enemy team to play safe, and either make them give up their buffs and towers, or for them to fight us to defend an objective. Either way, we would always come out on top.
  • I didn't die!!!

Things I need to improve on:
  • I really need to stop rushing Sorcerer's Shoes and just buy a sightstone, but I prefer having the extra movement speed and magic penetration in lane when I'm ahead, so I can create more advantages for myself. However, Sightstone allows you to gain advantages for your team because you can then track enemy movement, eurgh. Do I help my team or do I be greedy? xD
  • I kept on missing my Flash + Grasping Roots combos making me super vulnerable and therefore the many opportunities we could have capitalized on went to waste because I messed up.
  • I kept on taking my ADC's kills, but we were so fed that it didn't really matter, and at that point of the game we were pretty much acing them 3v5.

DEFEAT

Summary of the game:
I messed up early game which tilted me for the rest of the game. I wasn't paying attention and I kept on trying to help the team which in turn meant I constantly got caught trying to save them. They had so much mobility that I could barely ward or use my Rampant Growth seeds just to get vision without being jumped on by either Lissandra, Ezreal or Tristana.

What I did well:
  • I caught up after my first blood, ending up at 3/3/5 at one point, and being able to one shot their Ezreal. I kept the team in motion for the first 10 minutes, asking them to coordinate ganks on both mid and top to shut down their solo lanes, but at one point in the game they all just stopped listening and it turned into arguing and a pure solo queue game. Communication breaking down so drastically and so suddenly is why the enemy team started to control the map.

Things I need to improve on:
  • I need to die less. Every time I saw someone getting caught out, I'd try to help them. I just listened to my team because they would never listen to me, and every time I listened to their idea (e.g. flank around from behind) I'd get blown up and die and then they would blame me. I never wanted to do it but the fact they were so persistent just made me tilt. I need to use my brain and realize when I should listen to my team, or listen to myself. Every time I listened to myself this game I ended up making a mistake, and I should've listened to my team. Every time I listened to my team and did what they asked of me, I realized it would of been better I listened to myself. If it was vice versa this game would've been won.
  • I left Caitlyn in a freeze bot lane to let her farm, and I warded her lane but I never grouped with her until 20 minutes. She kept on dying on teamfights because I couldn't peel for her ( Shyvana and Alistar) and she would just get blown up. She positioned rather horribly though. 250 CS at 50 minutes is kind of awful. I still should of helped her more, but I wanted to make sure Fizz got ahead, which kind of backfired most of the time.

DEFEAT

Summary of the game:
There's nothing to say, after a good start to the day I'm now really tilted and sad. I can't believe how hard we threw, I thought it was an easy game. Zed was 6/1 at one point. Lucian was the most passive ADC I've ever seen and tilted super hard. Lee Sin was just lost and missed every insec.

What I did well:
Things I need to improve on:
  • Unfortunately, despite landing everything when needed, we still lost every teamfight post 30 minutes. The only thing I could've done better was my build. I thought the game was going to be a 20 minute win. Everyone was doing really well and all lanes were even with the exception of Zed who had a 20 CS lead and about 5 kills, when Ahri was 1/0/0. If I built damage I would have done so much better but I fell behind early due to how passive Lucian was, and how aggressive their bot lane was. I couldn't do anything 1v2. Oh well.

I'll be updating this once I've finished playing my placements, which won't be for a short while. I'm taking a break from League in order to space out from stuff. Exhaustion has really taken it's toll recently.

VICTORY

Summary of the game:
I didn't do too well in lane. I started to pick up in teamfights. Was a fairly even game until about 10 minutes.

What I did well:
Things I need to improve on:
  • Laning against Poppy. I thought she was a weak champion.

DEFEAT

Summary of the game:
People more tilted than Kaceytron on crack.

What I did well:
  • I suppose my warding wasn't awful. It wasn't good either though.

Things I need to improve on:
  • Lane pressure, not dying with my ADC, zoning e.t.c. I should really pay attention in champion select. I panic picked and then realized what I done after I locked in. I really should of queue dodged.

DEFEAT

Summary of the game:
It was fairly even in all lanes until level 6. We all managed to out-do our opponents from that point.

What I did well:
  • I didn't die a lot, and I was participating in quite a few fights. In a lot of games where I have low deaths, it's usually because I have low input in that game. I did quite a few things in order to get my team ahead. Playing aggressively and always trying to roam or create opportunities for kills/objectives.

Things I need to improve on:
  • Pre level 6 zoning. I wasn't using my deadly bloom enough and we only managed to gain a lead in lane because their Leona didn't do anything at all in lane, as I zoned Ashe.
