What is my/my team's win condition?

I almost dodged this game and it turns out a I should have because I didn't know and still don't know what my win condition was.

The way I saw it was that Singed has priority over the Jax if he is able to proxy, which he will be able to eventually since there is pratically no way for Jax to kill him on sight.

Aurelion Sol has the push vs Fizz so he has priority on roaming.

Kayn basically gets to go where he pleases and do what he wants on the Top side of the map.

My Bot lane probably should have priority, but if ASol roams when they are pushed we likely lose there as well.

I kept running into some combination of Singed, ASol, Pyke, or Kayn every time I tried to go past the river so struggled to do anything proactive in the early to midgame. Did get a little done in some team fights but it felt like too little too late.

How would you go about attacking their composition?

Would a different jungle champion have helped? IIRC Pantheon was banned and he was one of the champions that I thought might work if I could snowball their early game in my teams favor. A champion that could go over walls?

Thanks,

Wouldn't Aurelion Sol be an easy gank? I'd start with that. If the Jax seemed very good I'd try top but honestly Singed is so annoying and it could get nasty. Their bot lane seems annoying as well but once you've got mid rolling you can either take mid or bring the party bot. (or if you get fed, hope Thresh can set up something good)

I'd probably ignore top tbh. Gank if it's a free kill or to relieve pressure but Jax isn't going to carry that game.

Draven and Fizz are both good champions to snowball. If you can't reach Aurelion Sol in the early game, come back to mid after Fizz is 6 and can ult him. Bot lane is where I'd put most of my vision and try to gank or countergank if you can. Fed Draven can carry basically any game if you get him rolling early.

I don't really think Black Cleaver is a great opening on Xin Zhao btw. I haven't played him in a while but I usually see either Trinity Force or Titanic Hydra. If you can't afford Triforce it's okay to just get tanky so you can engage for your team.
Thanks to Fatelblade for the sig!

I agree now on the Black Cleaver not being an item to build on Xin Zhao if you get behind early. I don't like not having some extra damage on top of Enchantment: Warrior, but if I need to just be a somewhat tanky disruptor that is the route I'm going first now (picking up some armor or mr as appropriate) and if I can build some extra dmg later I will do so.

One thing I've seen is if you are vs two AD threats then buying and sitting on an armor item such as Chain Vest or Warden's Mail can be a viable option before going into your Trinity Force, but TF is almost essential on Xin if you want to be a credible damage threat.

It has been a bit, but IIRC I screwed up the early game so I didn't get to pressure Bot or Mid as much as I would have liked and by the time I was in position to do so they were already roaming between the lanes, so getting caught out was a high probability.

I've also some teams warding the hell out of the possible gank paths to Bot when the enemy team has a really strong roaming Mid laner, so you at least have some advanced notice. Aurelion Sol can be a little hard though since he can also lane gank or gank from angles coming from inside the enemy jungle.

I also needed to mute the Jax and ignore him. He did manage to get Singed low a few times, but I still should have ignored him most of the time.

To me this is an exercise in how do I deal with comps that have easy roam potential because you can't be everywhere at once. Going to the source of the roaming, A Sol, should have been my main priority because he has the potential to turn around any lead you get your Bot laner with a single roam.

Best I recall the Fizz did a couple of really stupid things in the early game which made me think that maybe he wasn't the person to carry this game, but sometimes you've got to hold your nose to play to the win condition.

Yep, singed was really annoying and he got to the point where he could set up dives on Jax with the help of Kayn.

In retrospect, I believe my win condition was get Fizz fed up to his eyeballs and then work with him to snowball the other lanes. I just played the early game poorly enough that I couldn't execute on anything I wanted to do in the Mid game.
