I was just trying to find out how many people actually made a support Ashe guide, So if there is not many of them here I can create my own. Everything was alright - there was only 1 support Ashe guide up to date. Then I was like 'this won't be a good guide - this will be just 1 build no chapters guide for sure -I've got this.' But then I checked your guide and I wanted to throw my head at nearby rock because this guide is just perfect. Everything I wanted to mention Font of Life procing Ardent Censer, no stacking slows and even that fu***ng Ultimate pinging. No reason to make it now. I guess I'll get back to assassin support guides *sigh* Your guide is awesome however. I love it it was entertaining clever and nice. +1
I like your idea of Ashe being Support. It makes sense in a lot of ways, right? Her slow, stun, more vision than other supports etc.
I could even imagine going for the rather tanky support item to help your ADC heal a bit easier but that depends on the match ups.
I noticed that your Threat and Synergy section is somewhat empty. Maybe you could fill that one up but apart from that I think it's a really nice guide. I like how you explain item choices and use quote of Ashe as captions for new chapters or topics. That's pretty lovely!
Keep up your great work! :3
Wicked Cherry.
Thanks for your feedback, glad you like the guide :)
You are right about the T&S section, it is very limited...actually, it was non-existent up untill about an hour ago haha, I'll keep on expanding that section :)
I'll try out Ashe Support and see how it goes. xD It's worth a try and after your guide I'm really curious about it.
I actually did try Ashe support but with slightly different runes - kinda the On Hit ones you would use for a Jinx ADC and that didn't work too well. Like it was okay but nothing I'd probably try in a ranked. xD
I'll try your new runes when I find the time. I'm sure they'll be working better than the ones I used. x]'
I play this in flex btw.
Hmm,I still would prefer my Lulu (or other supports) in Ranked to be honest. :x
But that's really to one's liking. :)
Like I said in the final chapter, this isn't ideal for competitve play...but it is somewhat viable and certainly fun :)
Even wrote a guide about her because I wanted to share the joy she brings with other people. :>
Yeah true. :)
In your cheat sheet I would be more clear about what to buy. At the moment it appears that you can get both Coin and Spellthiefs, which is if course impossible. People new to MobaFire don't click/hover over NOTES.
Hawkshot at 2 is interesting, as is delaying RF to 4. What about skirmishes?
Don't quite understand all your spoiler tabs.
Your description of playing off-meta champions should be reworded to be more positive, don't you think? I keep looking at the part where you mention your elo on your smurf and it doesn't give me confidence in your guide, lol! I would add screenshots at the end of the guide instead of the beginning.
Thanks for the shoutout! <3
I heavily question the choice of Frozen Heart as a first purchase - it's very expensive and counts on being targetted in a fight + within aura range to affect the enemy ADC or fighters for the attack speed slow... definitely not where Ashe wants to be.
I don't think Ashe should be classified as a tank, or build that tanky as to need a Randuin's Omen :O
I like your comments about Hawkshot and also pinging Enchanted Crystal Arrow's path. Very cool.
Which champions work best with Ashe support?
Cheers, jhoi
Thanks for the review! I’ve made some updates based on your feedback and provided a response per item below (including some questions).

Hmm…yeah I get your point. Changed the title of the first block to point out it’s OR not AND, do you think that makes it better? I really don’t want to split it up into multiple blocks if I can avoid it.

Hawk at 2 has two reasons, you want to hunt down the enemy jungler as soon as possible (granted your jungler should be keeping track of their position anyway, but most don’t at low elo) and you want to get the charges….ehm….charging.
At level 3, 2 points in W is stronger than 1 point in Q (especially since you can get more use out of it). You really don’t want to be fighting extended battles at level 3, Ashe sup is pretty weak in the early. Laning phase is more about survival than victory.
Actually, I scrolled through probuilds and they seem to use my ability order for level 1-7 as well (obviously they go W-Q-E instead of W-E-Q). Small sample size tho.
I’ve updated the notes on the ability section a bit.
Don't quite understand all your spoiler tabs.
Could you be more specific about this one? If it’s the TL;DR ones…yeah I kind of agree they don’t work at all in this one. They’re lifted assets from my original Q&D guide, and they work a lot better in that one than in this one I agree. Not sure what to do about that, since I don’t want to break format. Will think about rewriting them when I actually have time to do so.
Anything about the other tabs? (the rest is mainly things that I deemed non-essential, basically extra credit stuff that I don’t want to be getting in the way of the main body of text).

I don’t have time to rewrite that today, will look into it soon. Okay if I @ you when I’m done?
One question: the bit about screenshots, why would you put those at the end? I’d think people want to see match results BEFORE they decide to read thru the whole thing, not after.
I heavily question the choice of Frozen Heart as a first purchase - it's very expensive and counts on being targetted in a fight + within aura range to affect the enemy ADC or fighters for the attack speed slow... definitely not where Ashe wants to be.
Compared to ADC Ashe you spend a lot more time in lane trading with your opponents, since you’re not farming. Extra armour works there because even AP support usually harass with AA’s as well. So, you’ll get targeted (in fact, being targeted is a good thing since that leaves the ADC unmolested and free to kill them). It is expensive yes, but you do get most of the stats you need (CDr, armor, mana to spam W) from Glacial Shroud, as opposed to say Redemption which only really feels like it does anything once you’ve got the full thing. Added a line about this to the segment dealing with FH/BoS.
As for the aura…I believe the range is 700, not 1000 like the MF database says, but that still affects anything within your AA-range (600). Unlike ADC Ashe, being in range of the fighters or ADC is exactly where you want to be most of the time. Most of the time you’ll either be out in front helping Master Yi chase down the enemy AD Carry…or you are next to your Jinx, trying to keep their Tryndamere from bashing her brains in (which is incidentally also why Exhaust is far superior to Ignite). Added a few lines to the “Always take the high ground” section (which is mainly about scaling, but I already talked about positioning there anyway).
I don't think Ashe should be classified as a tank, or build that tanky as to need a Randuin's Omen :O
Which is exactly why it works. People instinctively see Ashe as a squishy, high priority target. Assassins and bruisers are wired to jump on Ashe and try to make her disappear. Even if they know at a conscious level that you deal 0 damage and have 300 armour, their instinctive reaction is to go all-in on you whenever they can. The amount of games I’ve won because the enemy Zed kept ulting me instead of our actual ADC…(Randuin’s doesn’t actually do much against Zed, Dead Man’s is better in that case…but you get my point). I’ve added a single line to that bit to emphasize that point.
Should probably note that this is truer in low ELO (which I classify as <= Gold), and higher-ELO players will be less likely to fall for it (then again, the higher the ELO, the more important “the meta” becomes, making Ashe sup’s viability drop exponentially).
I like your comments about Hawkshot and also pinging Enchanted Crystal Arrow's path. Very cool.
Thanks!
Which champions work best with Ashe support?
Good question, I’m still updating that on most of my guides. Honestly, when I want to play Ashe Sup…I just blind pick her into everything and I am of the firm believe that below Plat the picks don’t matter…at all (comfort pick beats counter pick every single time). However, I’ve added a few. Let me know what you think.
Working on this feedback I also noticed I switch a lot between “you” and “we” throughout the text, which is something I will address at some point in the future.
Great looking guide, awesome for new players that wants to try out Ashe.
To make the guide even better you can add more chapters, and even add a few more details in the guide for new players to see.
-> This guide here <- will help you with that!
1) I have both because both are viable imo, one is safer than the other. Spellthief is probably best, but ancient coint is more....uhm....versatile? Coin works in every lane and regardless of whether you are hungover or not (same as on Thresh you can go ancient or relic...relic is usually better but coin is safer).
2) Pink wards and support item: these are the most important items in your support kit. My average game ends with a vision score between 60 and a 100, with 25-50 wards placed and 6-10 control wards purchased (across various champs that is, not Ashe specifically). Doubling the enemy support's vision score is a good way to win games. 10 control wards is 750 gold. That's not a whole lot compared to the 12-15k you'll earn in a long game. If you have 3, you can comfortably drop one at dragon, have them destroy it...drop it again...take dragon and then use the final one to set up the next fight. As for replacing support item...realistically, you'll never get to that point. Because, first you'll need 4 other items (incl. boots). Then you replace your pink wards. Then basically have to save up 2k for a full item (since you don't want to replace a full item with just a component)....that's a looooooong game before you get there. And even then I probably wouldn't do it, since vision wins games...especially late when it becomes all about dancing around objectives untill someone screws up (and you want to see them when they screw up, preferably without them seeing you). So, there is no item that is more powerful anyways.
At least in my opinion :)
