AP Nasus isn't as bad as you're trying to make him out to be, although maybe I just play vs bads.

I'm pretty sure it's the latter of the two.

Possibly. Siphon Strike hits harder with AP than it does AD if you grab Lichbane, and your ult can do easily 10% of their HP per second.

You're pretty squishy, though. I usually have around 3k HP with my ult turned on with little resistances.

Been playing a bit of jungling Nasus and been fairly successful (He can jungle as fast as Yi, no problem).
Wither is also a seriously OP ganking tool.
The only issue I have thus far is not being 100% sure as to what items to build.

Been grabbing Madreds Bloodrazor, Sunfire Cape or BV, and Tri-Force, just not sure about the other items.

Any input?

Regardless of how you play Nasus (lane vs jungle), your build should always essentially consist of Merc Treads+Aegis+Trinity Force.

Then you should build tanky based on their team. Don't bother with any more DPS at that point, because your Q is so stupidly powerful. Physical DPS, build Randuin's/Sunfire. Magic, build Banshee's/Force of Nature.

Jungle Nasus would have an easier time getting Aegis just because of that Cloth Armor start.

My only issue with building a mostly tanky jungle Nasus is his lack of attack speed. Which is why I was grabbing Madreds (also helps shred tanks).

The little extra AS from Madreds goes a long way towards bringing down turrets too.

But I figure Sunfires or Randiuns would be the best 4th item to buff you up. BV for caster teams.

Your ult deals enough damage to tanks anyway, and you shouldn't need to be the one shredding them. You should be putting Wither on their carry and Exhausting their mage, and dealing so much damage to them with your Q that you force the enemy to attack you and not your carry - thus meaning that it's best for you to be as tanky as possible.

In between Q strikes, what are you going to be doing? Auto-attacking. Especially with jungle Nasus where you're going to be slowing a specific enemy with the red buff. So I still think Madreds Bllodrazor is an option.

Since you need to be in the middle of the enemies to maximize the damage of your ult anyhow, I figure you might want to be doing as much damage as you can in between Q strikes anyhow.

But recently I've grown fond of getting Wriggles Lantern first, then a Warmogs in conjuction with a Sunfire Cape so that my ult is put to best use.

I can last forever with a Warmogs on Nasus, and the Sunfire just adds extra damage to my ult AoE. The lifesteal on Wriggles plus his passive makes him impossible to outlane, and I grab Merc. Treads of course.

What do you think?

I really don't think you can skip Trinity on Nasus. I do think however that while it is a must to rush Sheen to really boost your damage output and your farming ability you can delay Trinity for until you finish and Aegis and perhaps a Banshees. Personally I prefer having a core of Aegis and Sheen, and when I feel good enough with my survivability I get Trinity. I don't think there's an item with the same effect for Nasus (Unless you stack Deathcaps and get a Lich Bane, duh)

He doesnt need a tri force just a sheen. The sheen helps his Siphoning Strike. Especially if you are a pro at last hitting. once your q is leveled a ton then the sheen will help take half their life in one hit. If they are squishy They are done. plus wither nasus is the best tanky dps Hands down.
