From what I'm reading it seems like you're being too passive in regards to your team. There are a lot of things you can do to mitigate/reduce the impact of a poor teammate(s) but all of them require you to be proactive and team friendly. Granted, sometimes it's just impossible no matter what you do, but those situations should be few. So here are 3 tips/reminders to help you in your games.

Firstly, this is a team based game, and your team as a whole is going to have a bigger impact on the game than you will(at least this is how it should be). Words of encouragement, objective/danger reminders, and directing your teammates will help you carry your team much better than a positive k/d/a ratio will.

Secondly, identify problems early. Someone on your team has died twice in the first 5 mins of the game already? Maybe he has a bad lane match up or a bad day? Offer to switch lanes with him or, if you are playing a jungler/roamer champion, go gank his lane/help out more often. A teammate is playing stupidly aggressive? Tell him to play more defensively, or better yet, tell them exactly where to go. Sure they might not listen, but you should at least let your intentions be known rather than be quiet or shout obscenities at your teammates.

Thirdly, and this one applies to everyone of all ELOs, LEARN MORE ABOUT THE GAME! Your ELO is under 1000? You're obviously not as good as you think you are and you definitely don't know as much about the game as other people. Stop being conceited and examine your weaknesses, figure out where to improve, and LEARN MORE ABOUT THE GAME! Attributing every reason for why your ELO is so low to "bad teammates" is a mark of a bad/stupid player(unless your like +1800 ELO).

That has some sense.

Just that, bad teammates CAN be a valid reason for a lower ELO...for instance, Critorious one day was playing LeBlanc and was like 23-2 or some **** and they lost.

yea.

in ranked.

Yes I know...

and I addressed it. Sometimes there is just absolutely nothing you can do. Your opponents are just better than your team in every respect (Edit: and/or your teammates suck horrifically). But that won't always be the reason you lost. So you know...

I do think K/D/A should be accounted for as far as elo goes. I also think that the entry games (before you are ranked) should be weighted far less.

Before I was ranked, I was required to play people who I'm not good with, (like singed.. all my tanks get banned in low elo except him, and nobody ever wants to tank.) Despite this, I kept a positive KDA with him, and lost those games. I finally get to play 2 games in a row of morgana (who I've been maining for a while now) and look:

Lolwat.

If I'm able to get scores like that, I probably shouldn't be playing with the people I'm playing with. (Enemy team as well as mine) Yet I barely raise in elo for these games :/

Performance should be somewhat weighted, even if not too heavily. The only problem I see is someone playing a tank and going 3/5/20 and losing elo for it. All they'd need to do is weight assists better.

Yeah, I realize, I should be able to play more than one character. (I CAN!) but all the tanks I have unlocked get banned, and my team will force me into a tank role. :/ Sometimes I feel like I should just ignore them and lock in whoever I want.

So lock in who you want.
The issue on my ELO is that people just play WAY too aggressively and feed so many kills. I saw a Sion dive at level one tonight because their Evelynn was less than 200 HP. Like my normal scores are between eleven and fifteen kills with three or four deaths and plenty of assists. I see people on my team who go deep negatives scores, and I can't understand WHY. I just can't believe that the people on their team are "OP" or their lane comp is "Better than ours", because I've swapped lanes before and had no problem.

Example, tonight I was playing Janna. I was laning with a Malphite on bottom lane, crushing their team. Teemo in the middle fed Karthus three kills and said he wasn't going back mid. So I go take mid as Janna vs Karthus, who had three levels and two kills up on me and did fine. Even got a kill on him and made him back once. But Teemo kept yelling "Karthus OP need a nerf", among other vulgarities which I don't feel should be posted >.>

So I can say with 100% certainty that when I play a character I'm good with (support mostly, one or two tanks and maybe Lux or Garen) and I lose, it is because my team is bad. When I get forced into playing champions I'm not good with because the rest of my team locks in their carries and I get stuck rolling Singed or Mundo, I probably bring the team down. Not because I feed, though. It's very rare I give up more than four or five deaths in a game. But because I feel out of my comfort zone.

What bugs me in ranked is if you are having a REALLY hard laning phase and once you die twice your team starts calling you a feeder
Frustrates me to no end

Only played 4 matches and lost 2 and won 2
First win I was Rammus and jungled but got interrupted at blue twice because the Irelia in right lane didnt play aggressive for 2 seconds to keep them busy. I still ended up carrying

First loss, they banned most tanks so I picked Jungle Nunu and the enemy picked Cho (fuuu). My team then picked Gangplank, Teemo, Katarina and Tryndamere...

Second win I was Malphite and went something like 9/2/27. So yeah that went well

Second loss I was Udyr and the enemy team had the worst team combination ever. Almost NO CC at all. Udyr, Sion and Master Yi were pleased. Our Irelia and Malphite seemed to a duo combo though and had forced Master Yi to solo, which he was handling ok... Until Irelia and Malphite said 'This is boring' 'Yeah' and both left 0_o Just like that. No other words, just left. The worst part? Me, Master Yi and Sion aced the enemy by ourselves TWICE once they left. If the other two were there we could have sweeped the floor but they LEFT a RANKED GAME because they were BORED. I'm still really pissed off at that.
Could have been 3 to 1 but no some idiots left because they hadn't got 10 kills 15min in or something *-_-

Ok I will first explain my most recent ranked game to display how much I honestly cannot do anything more to help my team. We were playing against nocturne, ashe, heimerdinger, amumu, and mordekaiser. My team was me as sivir, cho-gath, kassadin, morgana, and alistar. At the beginning I already knew it was bad news because I was pretty much the only ad. So I midded against ashe and he was alright, but we were pretty much even. I was consistently closer to my turret because they had a jungler and we didn't so I didn't want to get ganked.

As the laning phase is starting to end, within about five to ten minutes ashe is now 15/0 and some number of assists. Our Cho-gath would consistently run up to attempt to kill turrets by himself when he couldn't even see where the enemy champions were on map. He ended with about 13 deaths I believe. Our Kassadin would use his ult to chase down fleeing low health champions right into the other team. And at one point when I was at the other side of the map defending our tower against two or three champions, the rest of my team decides to chase a practically full health and shielded Mordekaiser under and behind his turret. They killed him, but then all four die. What am I supposed to do at this point? I still get kills every once in a while, but there is no way to make up for a team like that when they get worse as the game progresses not better.

Any time I tell a teammate to play more defensively or ask them to switch lanes when I am not mid-laning they respond with something along the lines of I'm not a chicken, but a different word in play of that. Apparently, I'm not a chicken means I want to give the opposing team more than five early kills.

And finally, I would prefer if you actually at least play a game with me before automatically judging that I must pretty much stink.

I have had issues with ranked play. On my other account that I don't use since I wanted to play ranked games on a fresh slate, I decided that I would play ranked games. Now, understand that this is before the account was 30 and ranked games just came out. Sadly, my first two games had leavers on my team, lowering my ELO to about 1100. Then, I decided that I still had a chance. I went at another ranked match. No leavers this time, because since my ELO was lower, I was stuck with feeders. Now, I know other people have been stuck in the same position I have been, seeing as I have played ranked games at the 900 level(sucks right?) and had my team COMPLETELY blow the other team out of the water. BUT, don't say that someone stinks just because their ELO is low and they can't get it back up. One horrible teammate can ruin the whole thing.

The best part is, when you have your ELO get that low, it is HIGHLY improbable that you can bring it back up. This is because of, one, bad teammates occur more often, and two, the ELO system starts to add less ELO taking more games to get back up than to drop that far down.

So, please don't judge...

Thanks to Scrax for my Evelynn Sig.I did the Yi, Anivia, and Udyr Sig.
